If Arlington Jonesboys fans knew the following, they would not post about Dak Prescott's interceptions this season:

Roger Staubach threw 15 or more interceptions 4 times in a season, going to 2 Super Bowls, and leading the team to 3 playoff appearances. He never had a losing season throwing 15 or more interceptions in those seasons. Staubach has had 3 season with 90.0 or above QB rating.

Troy Aikman threw 15 or more interceptions 2 times in a season, and had back to back losing seasons. Troy Aikman has only 2 seasons with a QB rating above 90.0.

Dak Prescott is 12-5 with 15 interceptions, only has done it 1 out of 7 season, is in the playoffs, Dak has had a QB rating 90 or above in all but 1 season, 6 times, and the year he did not the Cowboys had a winning season. Dak's 23 TDs is the high of Staubach and Aikman's career seasons.

Anyone who knows me, know that I am not a Dak fan lately as his play has been flimsy. But I also know the reasons why he plays flimsy (totally different from 2016, 2018, 2019, and it starts at the top with the owner, GM, and defacto Head Coach, Jerry Dumbo GM Jones.

You Arlington Jonesboys fans have waited 27 years, so why not 28, 29, 30 years etc. At least until 2024, Dak will still be your QB. So you will probably have winning seasons, QB ratings over 90.0, and playoff appearances.

Sssshhhh… that one guy is going to come along and tell you defenses were “tougher” back then!!!

What is not mentioned is that Staubach and Aikman played in different times. In Staubach's day, defensive backs could mug the wide receivers. Even when Aikman played, CBs had more leeway to be draped all over the WR. This of course led to more wins by the defensive backs that led to INTs. Then the league dramatically changed the rules to benefit QBs like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning - presumably for their health, but I think fantasy football played a big role in that too. Today, a team's #1 WR often collects 100+ receptions - in some instances TEs and on occasion, RBs. In Drew Pearson's day, if a WR got 70-80 receptions he was among the best at his position. Average QBs today throw for 4,000+ yards. Imagine Dan Marino and Dan Fouts in today's QB-friendly environment. Those two would have flirted with 5,500 or 6,000 yards a season.

When dak wins as many Super Bowls as those two this won’t be a topic of conversation
No quarterback has won a Super Bowl by himself. Starting with McCarthy to the FG kicker. We have to win as a team. Dak can't throw int's. Offense can't fumble. Defense can't give up BIG plays. McCarthy can't have brain fog. We lose tonight. I guarantee it won't be on just Dak. Somebody somewhere else didn't do their job either. But yes! Dak has to play fantastic as do the rest of the team.

Receivers could also push off the cb's but then when Irvin was so good at it they made it illegal of course.

The myth that turnovers are not in Daks DNA is a myth

he led the NFL in fumble in 2018, 2021, and INTs in 2022…….it’s in his DNA and the 3 years are not a fluke, they are significant

Already trying to stuff Dak's amazing ability down our throats and tell us how awesome and HOF caliber he is already. You should know better, but i take it maybe i shouldn't expect you to. In that era, QBs could not just throw the ball away so either get sacked or throw into coverage. Also defenses were not penalized heavily for being aggressive with receivers or rushers penalized for touching the QB. You guys always come up with some stat to overshadow the ineptness of Dak in post season. Also more wild cards in play, back then you had to WIN your division. Its becoming like hockey where half the teams make the post season. So that is no big deal nowadays.

Don't forget to mention the modern QB has the option to throw the ball away and the slide rule . . . which were not options back then . . . A QB had to run for His life to get out of bounds . ..
