Malware may knock thousands off Internet on Monday

WASHINGTON (AP) — The warnings about the Internet problem have been splashed across Facebook and Google. Internet service providers have sent notices, and the FBI set up a special website.
But tens of thousands of Americans may still lose their Internet service Monday unless they do a quick check of their computers for malware that could have taken over their machines more than a year ago.

They don't have protection ?

Seems silly to me. My computer sweeps at least once a week and does a quick scan several times a day.

I often wonder (conspiracy theory type thing), if the protection companies make the viruses also. Seems they would have to to me.

If they are just using the Internet and not doing anything about the malware or viruses on their PC, they shouldn't be allowed on the Internet in the first place.

This is a good thing.

I've had that same theory for a long time

I think that if my PC is infected, which I highly doubt, then I'll do a system restore, and if that doesn't work, I'll re-image and be back up in 15 minutes.
