What happened to this Cowboys defense?

So a couple of days ago i said to myself i won't get hyped up until at least the NFCCG. I asked myself why get hyped up too early? One win, or two wins, or even three wins, is still one win shy. I guess for some younger fans maybe they never seen a playoff run by the Cowboys, and they will take what they can get, i don't blame you, but i have seen it, so 2 or 3 playoff wins doesn't really mean that much to me as a older Cowboys fan.

When i woke up this morning i was almost immediately thinking about the game as if this is the first time i'm going to see the Cowboys in the playoffs. The hyped rush of energy consumed me. Afterwards I had a few errands to run and none of them went smoothly. I'm starting to think that this game tonight will also not go without a few bumps, maybe more than a few.

Some part of the Cowboy's team will have to carry the rest of them team if it unfolds this way.

If you asked me 2 or 3 months ago i would've said, No problem the defense will do it.

What happened to this Cowboys defense? Can they be counted on to carry the team through what could be 4 very difficult games?

Let's go Cowboys!

I am also excited. Nothing wrong with that. we are all on this place because we are fanatics- no shame in it. Hoping for a win but realize this is likely to be an extremely tough game regardless of their record.

Hopefully we get a W. they are in a tough place on this forum- they win easy? Big deal you beat an 8-9 team. Win close? They suck too close for comfort. I just enjoy the ride and try to be objective as I can be.

This team could make a run but it is far from a dominant team like the 90’s. 49’rs and Chiefs are lot closer to dominant play and consistency of past SB teams than todays DC. Would need to be some good luck happening for this years DC to get to a SB.

I'm pretty sure that if we are in the lead, the master time management skills of McCarthy will ensure that Brady doesn't have any time left to mount a last minute game-winning drive (sarcasm)

I’m looking forward to the game tonight and hope we win.

But I have realistic expectations.

Even if we somehow pull out a win tonight I don’t see us beating San Francisco on the road on a short week of rest.

We’ll see. Bucs have been bad this season, but they have Tom Brady, and we’ve seen teams like the Bills and Bengals struggle against bad teams this week. So anything can happen. Either way, winner plays San Fran, who has looked dominant. And if they happen to win next week, they’ll play either the top ranked Eagles or a red hot Giants. And then follow it up with whoever makes it out of the AFC. There’s a long road ahead, and it starts with Tampa.

I am excited and pumped! I just hope Quin has his head in the game and on preparation and not on house hunting in Denver.

A breath of fresh air thread. I actually thought about it this morning. Today is gameday for my favorite team in sports and I haven't had any desire to be here to embrace it with people who also claim to be fans. I feel like being on this forum is more depressing then excitement. Kind of sad. Anyway...Go Cowboys!

I'm an older fan, watched the Super Bowls in the 70's and 90's, blah, blah, blah. I can give a bunch of reasons why we will win or lose this game, but I've waited all year to be in this spot and I know we have a chance and this team is more than capable of not just winning this game, but beating any other playoff team.

I'm excited for the game because regardless of what happens, ride or die, the Cowboys are my team and I'm going to enjoy the ride for as long as I can.

Exactly.
I never seen so many weak minded stuff, afraid of Philly, afraid of TB, afraid of SF.
Atta boy! Reminding us this Cowboys team has granted us high confidence in being a prepared adept team week after week. We should appreciate it!

Thanks man!
