When has he ever said that about anyone?

He did say that Romo was not on a short leash. That is good enough for me.

Why would that have been good? You don't want him feeling comfortable before he's proved a darn thing.

True but you do not want a QB to be looking over his shoulder all the time. Guys who are afraid to make mistake tend not to make plays either. I'm sure Parcells will give Romo every oppertunity to prove himself as the starter.

neo's comment says it all, I couldn't remember what Parcells said. But Romo is not on a short leash, and Bill said he expects him to make mistakes.

I don't know what else he could say. Every opportunity is there.

I would imagine throwing 5 pics in one half would get him yanked. Something that bad is what it would take.

Good -- I did not know big bill said that......

Yeah Parcells said they were not going to simplify the offense for Romo.

That was pretty evident the when he decided to have the guy roll out and throw on his first play Monday.

I got a pretty good feeling in this press conference that Parcells has pretty much accepted that Bledsoe is finished. I think that the retread QBs trend is over here/

There was a line where he stated, "This is our choice from here on out," or something to that effect.

i sure don't want to hear that. last thing we need is another enabled player without fear of anything.

Great...That's long overdue

But let's recognize that the retreads allowed Bill to let Romo develop. Bill spoke regularly about ruining young QBs by putting them in too early. Had the retread trend begun earlier we may have seen a very different performance out of Q or Hutch -- not that I'm a fan of either but a few years on the bench might have allowed them to become solid QBs.

I completely agree with this. I continue to stand by my opinion that Henson should never have seen the field in 04 and that Parcells was completely right in keeping Vinny as the starter. My point is that I think we really feel Romo can do something and if not, we are going to be in position to get a legitimate prospect in here.

fear of Parcells wrath is enough to keep him motivated. fear of not making the best out of his opportunity. fear of losing millions of dollars from potential future contracts, etc. etc.

Agree -- I think it is time to do this as well. Romo looks like he's not going to learn any more sitting.

if this wasn't ROmo we're talking about, I would agree, but ROmo is a real confident guy

How much rope did he give Bledsoe? You think Romo gets any less?
