What if I wanted to live on Wake Atoll?

Some sites call it Wake Atoll and others call it Wake island, but it looks beautiful. I figure I could transport an RV to there and bring a generator and a solar panel system to get enough electricity. Then I would need some kind of desalination system. There's plenty of water in the ocean, but it's got salt in it. So desalinate water to have plenty of drinking water and water for other tasks, and I'm good. I should probably bring plenty of canned and freeze-dried food. Then I wonder if there's food that I can forage. The place looks pretty small. I'd bet I could catch fish and they would be really tasty. I think you can eat seaweed as well. If I need to replenish my canned and freeze-dried food, I wonder if there's some place where I can go to via sailboat to go shopping. Or maybe they deliver to Wake Atoll?

Do you think this is a good idea?

Be a lot of constant work; desalinization is not easy or cheap; and you will need enough to do various things.

and can you really stand being totally alone for so long?

I think it would be nice. People are annoying. But it would be nice to have an animal companion.

You never heard of the Wake Devil? It's a cousin to the Tasmanian Devil only 5 feet tall with really sharp teeth, a bad disposition and hard to train to live alongside humans. Which is why there aren't any on Wake.

I'll have plenty of electricity from my solar panels and my generator, so I should be able to put up an effective electric fence that will keep that rascal out.
