what if, Romo plays in the preseason and its obvious he is more effective with less of an OL! We all know BLEDSOE is the man, he has been the man since HS, but football is not an individual sport. Drew has a very nice arm and will win u at least 1 game a year just on his savvy alone. But this is a team sport and what if the team/OL is not as effective with Bledsoe... the last time it happened it with TOM BRADY!

From what I gather Romo gets the ball out quick and Drew does not... the OL may suck, it may not... who knows what will happen in the preseason?

But for Romo to be more effective he doesnt have to be better than DREW... Brady wasnt better than DREW... its not about who is better its about the team being better!!!

If Romo wins the job that means there is hope Henson to be his back of the furture!!!

Bledsoe is the starter. No matter how he looks in preseason he is the starter.

That won't stop the insanity, though.

So, Romo is the "furture."

To be honest, I'd rather cross that bridge when we get there. And while the "two good quarterbacks is like having no quarterback at all" argument exists, I think it'd actually be a nice bridge to be traveling across.

What if Romo plays well when given the chance? We can only hope.

I'm miffed by how some people seem to think this is a bad thing for the Cowboys.

I don't see BP trusting Romo to lead this team over Bledsoe. Only way Romo will start for any lenght of time during the reg season is if Bledsoe gets hurt. Other than that Bledsoe would have to look really really bad and Romo would have to be a house on fire. I like Romo but sorry I see a backup career just like the guy BP compared him to Jeff Rutledge

I think it's insane not wanting Romo or Henson or whomever to play well enough to beat out Bledsoe.

Granted there is a 99.9% chance that Bledsoe will start but I know I would sleep better at night (or daytime :) ) knowing if Bledsoe went down the QB position would be in capable hands.

im thinkin in about 2 years it will be the Romo Show. there it is I said it first, im gonna trade mark it, remeber America's Team started the term "The Romo Show"

Romo's the backup the season unless Bledsoe is injured.

Romo is playing for a contract during the preseason.

This is the time for him to establish his value to the team and the F/A market in general. The better he plays, the better contact he gets.

I think he'll get an offer from the Cowboys either way next year, how much and for how long will determine what they figure his role with the team to be longterm.

I agree but being realistic the odds of Romo going into the season as the starter over Bledsoe is 00.1. Having said that I hope Romo looks good and if called on can come in and do the job but I see no way BP is going to put this team in Romo hand unless he has no other choice.

I have never been a big believer in Tony Romo, but if he proves something this preseason that would be great...means we have a valid QB to back up Drew Bledsoe this season.

Outside of injury, Tony Romo will carry a mean clip board again this season.

Yeah. For Romo to start this year, Bledsoe would have to be hurt or suddenly start playing like Chad Hutchinson (which is highly unlikely).

I'm not going to put a ceiling on Romo. Maybe he can be like Jeff Rutledge, but only much better.

:)

I believe that's what I said.....99.9% chance Bledsoe is the starter. :D

If Romo plays well we give him a long term contract. You pay the guy 2 million or so in bonus on a 5 year deal and he's happy as hell. You develop him some more. Maybe he's trade bait in the future, maybe he's our starter down the road. We should be very happy with both.

I think the plan is to make up their minds about Romo during this training camp. If they think he is worth keeping they will throw a couple million at him and sign him for 5 years. If not, BYE BYE.

I know, just making sure people understand I'm not against Romo. I was also not against Jason Garrett but he was not a guy I would want to 16 games with in a season. He was a guy who if he had to hold down the fort for 2 or 3 games he could do so beyond that no.

If Romo plays well, that's a good thing. That will make alot of us feel better if Bledsoe goes down.

I understand what you mean 99.9% of the time Sir.......no problem here. :)

Heres hoping Romo or Henson shows something in the preseason. If they don't we have to worry again about what happens if our QB gets injured. We've had pretty good health at the QB position in the last few years, anytime a position that important goes mostly uninjured I begin to get worried.

If Romo plays well then he should get a nice contract extension to be the QB once Bledsoe leaves.

That's it....End of story....
