How he got here: It's an annual storyline that hurts for the player and benefits the team. Clark was one of the most high-profile players in this year's draft class to suffer an injury setback. A second-team All-America and first-team All-SEC player at LSU, Clark was widely seen as a Top 100 prospect, until it was discovered at the NFL Combine that he would require surgery on a herniated disc in his neck. While he is expected to make a full recovery, the setback will likely cost Clark much of his rookie season, which is what eventually pushed him down to the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft, where the Cowboys picked him up with the No. 176 overall pick.

The Dallas Cowboys are diabolical. They discover Clark's herniated disc in his neck at the NFL Combine, thus crashing his value as a draft prospect and then they draft him in the 5th round. Great acquisition! He'll ge great!
Looks like he flies around making plays.

Can't wait to see this dude play. Hope it's this year but somehow I'm doubting that.

He’ll be off PUP sometime in November. Probably won’t play until December but that gives him about 6 games of NFL action not including playoffs.

I say if he can get 3+ games in then you let him come back and get some experience. Anything less than 3 and it’s not worth it IMO.

Whoa -- Stephen didn't waste any time by replacing his daddy as the team's prophet/physician! He must've taken a crash course on cervical disc injuries! Is there anything this amazing vice president can't accomplish? Maybe not. We are, indeed, blessed. You can't make this stuff up -- or can you? :D

I don't see a reason to activate him to the 53 this season.

Last year they activated Vasher for practice about 2 or 3 weeks before the end of the season. He did not take up a spot on the 53 but could practice.

Do the same with Clark if he is ready.

At first all indications he would be stashed for the year, but was that the media and fans speculation?
Last I seen the teams position was they had hopes and felt he could get some playing time this season.

Starts the season on PUP, so that is 6 weeks. They then have 2 weeks which really seems to be 3 weeks. To activate him or he goes to IR.
Not sure what the rules are anymore. Seems there is always a quirk in there sometimes year to year.

My usual take is this team says this stuff, then he ends up missing the year, or twice as long as they say.
See the Gallimore situation last year. 3 weeks turned into 10 to 12 weeks.

So I am not expecting anything this season, but would be a nice surprise if he gets in, oh, the game after T-Day game.
He can get in some plays giving others some needed rest going into the playoffs, if they are in playoff contention. Which they should be.

Let him rehab all this season, get his practices in...and come back ready to go next season. The guy will be great. Playing with Parsons and Cox.

When did they say 10-12 weeks for Gallup? They have been pretty consistent the whole time hoping for week 1 but bracing for a 3-4 week absence.

Haven’t seen any reports having him miss anything close to 10 weeks. Did a google and Twitter search just now and nothing came up with remotely that long of a timetable. Now I may have missed the article so don’t hate me but I think we are greatly exaggerating the length of that injury recovery.

I also don’t get the fanbases accuracy meter when discussing the FO and injuries. How an injury is diagnosed initially may not always be how it ends up. It’s not necessarily the FO lying to you but injury timetables are not set in stone. As new info comes then new prospective return dates are set. For ever injury you say the FO has predicted wrong there’s one they did right.

I think it’s simple. I operate under the assumption that the timetable set by doctors is fairly accurate, but if someone is wrong and the timetable changes, I don’t look back and get mad at the initial timetable for being wrong. Simply just take the new information and move forward with that adjustment. I know we like to have a clean prediction of our roster health but this is football. Don’t get into the business of extrapolating a longer injury return because the reports have been wrong in the past. Just take it for what it is and if it changes then you adjust.

NFI not PUP.

They can activate him for a game anytime after game 8 and before game 17.

I said Gallimore going into last season on his dislocated elbow and no ligament damage supposedly.
Not Gallup.

However last year they said 3 weeks for Gallup calf injury and it was what 8 weeks.
6 to 8 weeks on DLaw broken foot and it was like 11 weeks.
