What the Philly Writers are saying???

Nothing I love more than reading the local papers and listening to the radio after a Eagles defeat to the Boys....Here is what is in todays edition of the Phila Daily News, from scrub beat writer Les (I never played a sport) Bowen.....still whining about the 4th and one spotting of the ball!!

"The Eagles had the better of the play the second half, from their opening drive. If the sneak is ruled correctly, they almost certainly retake the lead, on a touchdown or a field goal (remember, David Akers hit from 52 in that end a few minutes later), and go from there.

Instead, we get to read postgame quotes from the Dallas locker room about the incredible defensive stand that changed the game for the Cowboys and for Mr. November, Tony Romo. Heartwarming stuff, like much great fiction."

and one more...

"That the Cowboys could redeem last season's 44-6 postseason-berth-blowing finale by winning Game 8 the next season? Wonder who they'll play now in the playoffs? (Just reflecting on the tone of coverage in Dallas.)"

Can something just tell him to off please!!!

This idiot has no proof the Eagles would go on to score. They were right around mid-field. For all we know, they would have had to punt 3 plays later.

Of course, theres no mention about the obvious PI call on Roy Williams at the end of the first half that likely costs us 4 points. Or the bogus PI call on Witten.

The refs had a bad night, but the bad calls went both ways.

Funny, they Forget Celek's push off on Sensabaugh on the TD pass.

The failed 4th down conversion was ruled correctly. Let them piss and moan all they want. The torch is being passed again, and they sense it.

I watched the game again, it was not a first down. When Mcnabb's elbow hit the ground, the ball was behind the marker, not by much, but it's pretty clear.

He also failed to mention the ineptitude of beloved Eagles to reach the 1st down marker on the previous three plays. I don't know, but where I come from that IS a defensive stand. And, don't look now brainchild, but the Eagles have the single worst team in football over the past 3 seasons at 3rd and 4th and 1 or less. THE WORST. Blame a bad call all you want but your team went against the odds and lost. Crying like a ***** won't change how awful the Eagles have been in that category. Maybe you should dial up Andy Reid and see if he wouldn't mind tossing a running play or short yardage situation or two into the practice rotation. Just a thought.

Ya, that pass interference against Roy Williams (Asante Samuel) that wasn't called, made up for that. Next!

:)

He needs to get over it because when they come to Dallas they're gonna get beat again.

I'm glad someone else brought this up. I rewatched it too with the miracle of tivo and I went back and forth 4 times. It was NOT a first down even if you placed the ball where McNabb stopped. He was still about 3-5 inches short. I was surprised no media outlet brought this up in the following days.

Its clear as day.

The recent trend has been that we beat Philly the first game, and they come back and beat us in the second game. It's happened the last 3-4 years. So it's not guaranteed, although I am crossing my fingers.

Or the obvious PI against RW in the endzone that was never called, yet they called a PI on Ball which was weak. I didn't like the officiating in the game but the Eagles sucked in short yardage all night and the refs took 7 points off the board with the non call. It works both ways.

He didn't push off from what I saw by watching the replay in 3 different angles.

that OR Mcpuke throws his third pick for trying to hard.......

It's AMAZING how arrogant Eagles and other NFCE fans are... lol....

They were at midfield.. no evidence they would advance any further. There were alsoe 8-9 minutes left in the game. Their defense had a chance to make a stand? and they STILL had an opportunity to tie us but COULDN'T...

The writer acknowledged that Samuels interfered with Williams b4 half which could have made it 14-6 but offered BS in that McNabb's sneak attempt was more important because it was later in the game... complete BS...

he didn't get the first decisively if at all. The entire division is counting on us folding in December

I know what they're saying...
