Why was Aaron Glenn going off on the sidelines? Wasn't there a play just made against him? I do not understand why if he messed up he was upset on the sidelines, yelling at BP.

The next play, the Cowboys sent Williams and Glenn on a blitz. Williams went up the middle and Glenn off the edge.

Glenn was supposed to cover running back Ladell Betts.

Instead, Betts blocked then released into a passing route, forcing Glenn to backtrack to find Betts who caught a short pass and turned it into a 21-yard gain.

The play didn't cost Dallas any points, but coach Bill Parcells yelled at Glenn.

"It was one of many good plays by those guys," Glenn said. "I'm supposed to get the quarterback, and [Betts] released. Bill is barking that we didn't make the play."

I didn't really understand what Aaron Glenn was so mad about on the sidelines after the Betts play. Was he mad at Parcells, a team mate, himself ... ?

Probably trying to explain. Betts did a good job of faking a block and going to the flats.

It's still embaressing getting burn't 20 yards by a RB whos not even known for his speed.

Parcells or another coach had chewed him out for letting Betts out in the pass pattern uncovered. Glenn was probably sticking up for himself(making excuses)

Over the blitz coverage I believe......oh well.:banghead:

What he said was: "Don't ***** at me, if you want me to cover the RB, don't send me on a blitz. I can't do both at the same time, you freakin idiots."

Or something like that.

He was upset because Parcells was barking at him after screwing up by letting Betts go free and BP was giving him an ear full about it.

Yea he was very upset that Bill chewed his butt for missing the coverage on Betts..But did you guys notice how hard he went at the game winning fG of the skins.. he layed it all out there and came very close to getting a peice of it.

A. Glenn is a player. He did what he was supposed to do on that play Brunell and Betts just made the adjustment.

No, he didn't. His responsibility is to make sure the running back does not release out. You can blitz and cover at the same time by going at the running back. Hit him and it will cause him to delay his release even more or not at all. That would have given the other guys a chance to get to Brunell.

Exactly, Glenn expected Betts to say in on protection or took for granted that would happen. Glenn got an earful from Bill but people need to understand it is not some personal attack football coaches jump players and I'm sure Parcells does not think any less of Glenn or vice versa
