What was Dan Quinn thinking would happen?

Yeah it sort of felt like the Chaz Green game all over again. The whole world knew what was going on, but it's like DQ never prepared for a run heavy attack.

..yep, by the beginning of 2nd Qtr.

DQ should have manned more people upfront.

Does it take millions of dollars to use critical thinking?

Something that explodes off the screen here:

Defensive tackles getting moved way too easily and creating really tough gap fills for the LBers (mostly Mazi and Davis).

Pin and pull. Buffalo used it to great effect on their outside runs. DE is left unblocked and the slot receiver or TE cracks back on the DE while the Tackle loops around to intercept the LB working inside out. That is just a really tough scheme to beat right now. 3rd play in that tweet is a great example.

The personnel is just way too light. Asking S/LB hybrids to stand up a guard in the hold is asking for trouble.

He has made adjustments to this during the season, and for whatever twighlight zone reason ignored doing last night.

One game Quinn rolled out a 5-2 front that worked great. I don’t understand where that went. Play Lawrence, Osa and Armstrong at DT. Put Fowler and Williams at DE. Then put Parsons and Clark at LB. Let Micah show blitz every play on an A or B Gap. We definitely need bigger bodies on the field when we’re playing from behind.

The Cowboys lack the personnel to stop heavy rushing attack from mauling OL. Not every team can do this and those that can will absolutely have an edge vs this defense.

we're saving that defense to surprise the other team when we make the super bowl in 2043

In both the San Fran and Buffalo losses, the opposing defenses absolutely controlled the line of scrimmage with just 4 lineman. Buffalo had good pressure on Dak all game long. Dak rarely had time to look deep. Buffalo could play tight knowing the ball had to come out quick. Short catches were immediately tackled. Dallas front 4 on defense does not compare. I don't blame Quinn, I blame the GM. Our DL is just not as good as theirs.

Nope. We should be just read the message board here for great ideas. Just like the shock jocks everyone here is right except when they aren't. Then you don't hear from them again except as the Monday morning QB.
