What will be different about the Cowboys this season?

We won't know until the playoffs if or how this Cowboys team will be any different. The schedule looks harder than last year. Hopefully the Cowboys don't lose to many players to injury. So many variables it's impossible to say where and how much they will be different.

Just seems like it's a big injury or an injury that causes a key player to be out several weeks

It’s too early in the process for me to have a strong opinion about what this team will be. On paper, it looks to have taken a step back but paper is not what defines a team.

As far as what’s different this year? For me I will have lower expectations for this team going into 2024. There’s no way I could say with a straight face that I think this has been a great off-season when it comes to talent acquisition.

Yes, I think we had a good draft, but until those guys actually play meaningful downs in a real game, it’s hard to know what they are yet.

Also, having a head coach in the last year of his contract rarely works out well if the team gets off to a bad start as we saw in 2010 with Wade Phillips and with Jason Garrett in 2019. In both of those seasons the team did not make the playoffs.

What will be different about the Cowboys this year? Well, the obvious thing is we have a new DC. So, I believe our defense is going to be the most different. But, then again, what the heck do I know? LOL

Did we do anything to be more consistent running the football and stopping the run? I would say no. So I expect this season to end like the last 29. Dak is a good not great QB. And he might be able to win a wild card game....but you cannot win 4 straight postseason games on his arm. So I will not be fooled when we boat race some team during the regular season by 30. How we play against the AFC North. How we play against the 49ers and Lions. Those are the games I will be watching closely. I expect us to win 4 - 5 games in NFC East...and we will need to sweep the NFC South. But those other aforementioned games are measuring stick games...even Cleveland!

Good or bad, if Mike McCarthy gets fired, Mike Zimmer will be the head coach.

Nothing will be any different until we come up with a team that’s hell bent on winning a championship. Last season the team couldn’t even stay motivated until week 3 before they decided not to show up and lay their first egg of the season.

Im gonna go out on a limb and say team will lose in the first round of playoffs. And Dallas will be looking for a new coach and a new QB. Other than that nothing will change.

Good or bad, if Mike McCarthy gets fired, Mike Zimmer will be the head coach.

If McCarthy gets fired the defense will be part of the reason. We all know the pattern Jerry has of hiring within and promoting coordinators to head coaches but I think he’ll look for a bigger splash than promoting Zimmer. At least I hope so.

This is the beauty of the NFL. Every year, the team is different. Different coaches and different players. There’s also a lot of luck that needs to go your way with injuries to your team and to other teams. It’s why I’m always optimistic which sure beats the hell out of always being negative about the team.

dont know what will be different there are some unknown. I do however know what will be the same and thats my enjoyment of the journey regardless of the results. I pray it ends in a SB but if it dont Ill be just fine.
