I think it’s a win if you can keep their combined AAV under 50m$.

Public or private shouldn’t affect the contract itself much, it’s whether or not you’re a team that can handle a public contract feud; which Dallas has weathered enough times now that i don’t think it’d be a big deal if it happened again

Diggs - 4 years/$88M (60 guaranteed) - Should give you a possible out after 2 years
Lamb - 5 years/$125M (80 guaranteed) - Should give you a possible out after 3 years

I would never reset the market with anybody. Unless the guy was truly the best at his position.

But I am always trying to extend these guys a year prior to the contract being up. Dont like the practice of waiting until they are a FA.

Yikes…I hear what you’re saying but…yikes.
Last year showed us we desperately need two high quality WRs and we finally got Cooks and then we trade Lamb….?
No guarantee another 1st pick turns out as good as Lamb is.
I’d be more inclined to hear offers for Diggs.

I am an Oline guy. I do agree you need 1 great WR at least but if someone would give me two first round picks or a 1st and a 2nd for Lamb I would listen. You can just draft another.
