What Will the Eagles Do With Our Offense?

You’re the Eagles.

Do you play it safe in the secondary with safeties deep and ask the two talented CBs to take everything away and dare Dallas to try and run on your front, thinking the Cowboys won’t have enough success running to beat you.

Or do you stack the box with LBs and Safeties to totally shut down the run and occasionally send the blitz, daring Ceedee, Gallup, and Rush to pass on Slay and Bradberry?

If I’m Philly, I start with the second plan. I don’t let the Cowboys run, and I don’t let Rush stand in the pocket long. I think I can beat the Cowboys receivers and QB with Slay and Bradberry and the pass rush. I’m going to sell out to shut down the run, creating more 3 and outs, winning field position, and making Rush throw the ball over 30 times to stay in the game, and I don’t think the Dallas receivers can beat my CBs regularly enough to make Rush comfortable.

What do you think we will see from the Eagles? Remember, we are guessing about their strategy. That doesn’t mean the strategy will actually work. Maybe Ceedee makes mincemeat of Slay. Who knows.

They will first try and stop the run without committing LB's and force Rush to throw outside the numbers, hopefully they can not. If we can keep the seasm and crosses open for PA we can move the ball.

First couple of possessions are dangerous. Hope for mistake free ball and capitalize on their mistakes.

Simple they will try stopping the run and have Rush beat them through air.

Long as Zeke and Pollard get at least 4 yds to carry, that can set the tone. Given we get 1st down on 3rd.

I think 1st and 2nd down they will be up on the line looking to shut down the run, safety up around the line. 3rd down blitz or show blitz and drop off into coverage. I think Cowboys will at time need to throw on 1st down and be willing to take some shots down field, if we can hit on some of those plays Philly will be forced to back off.

The Eagles are going to be aggressive on both sides of the ball because they know the tallest order for a backup QB is a come back and they want Rush feeling the game is on him. I look for them to commit to stopping the run and trying to keep Rush in 3rd and 5+ situations.

Still do what everyone has been doing, keeping us below 21 points. This is going to be up to our defense.

I totally agree, that’s exactly what everyone else has been doing. I’m not sure if it’s a Cooper Rush holding us. Or the playcalling. At some point they’re gonna let him open it up

if youre the eagles you load the box and stop the run, make cooper rush beat you with his arm.

thats not me saying cooper can't sling it, because I THINK he can...but he hasn't been forced to throw the ball 40 times to win a game

Simple. Make Rush beat them by doing whatever it takes to keep the running game in check.

Bring a safety up. Run blitz. Load up the box. Force the Cowboys into a one dimensional offense.

They’re going to shut it down more than it already is shut down.

Stack the box and make the QB beat you. Considering how the QB position is the worst position that needs fixing on the team, we’re not in good company.

WR point: Even if our WR’s were open and created enough separation from the DB, they’ll drop the pass. That’s if they get open enough, which they probably won’t.

The eagles will likely stack the box with an occasional blitz to fluster Rush. He thrives in chaos but I’m not sure how much he can take.

With all due respect I’m not sure where this “ keeping us below 21 points “ is coming from.

The Cowboys have scored 22, 25, 23 and 20 in their last 4 games. So only one of those was below 21 points

now if we are talking about the 19-3 loss to the Bucs…..yeah that way below 21

And keeping in mind that this is through the hardest part of the schedule

Right remind me who they played? This D is going to be a test for Hurts watch. Our O will open it up if they have to. We can hurt them with play action.

Since fangio is helping eagles. I’d expect what fangio did to dak last year. Dak couldn’t do anything right in that game.

I think you have to take shots down the field to keep them honest. I have been impressed with Rush's accuracy when given the opportunity to go deep. Lots of play action please.

Our OL has to win the battle, defense will do their job.
With Rush, we need to keep the steady flow of trench dominance, need running game to exploit with opportunity.

This the game when Moore should use the Eagles one track mind against them. Turpin's speed should neutralize some of that line crowding. Use him and Pollard on wheel routes.

Brown is a good possession receiver. Forget about the crowd and start Zeke and Pollard in the backfield. Slayton is the same vulnerable player that he was last year. Throw at him, but make sure Cee Dee keeps his head in the game.

Try to make Rush pass more than the cowboys want him to.
If the cowboys can hit couple of big pass plays early, I like their chances.
If only cowboys had a big strong receiver who can break tackles and get some YAC.

They will commit 8 to the box to stop the run and make Rush beat them with his arm.
