what would next years 2nd round pick get us

Would trading 2012 2nd round pick be smart to pick up extra picks this year.
What could the 2012 2nd round pick get us.
I might be relying to do it for a early 3rd or a mid 3rd and 4th.

I really want Harris, Ellis, and Rackley but right now there is no way we can do it unless we can pick up an extra pick.

Future picks are worth less than the current years pick.

If you have the 9th pick this year you may be 32nd the following year so obviously it is worth less than this years pick. Same for every other round.

Typically a first next year is slightly better than a early mid second this year

Are you allowed to trade future picks this year? I know players are out, but I wonder if these are as well.
