Gallup looks like he's gave up. He's never bounced back after the acl tear. He's taking up a valuable roster spot. Time to go.

He has 34 catches this season, an average of 2 catches a game. these are #3 receiver numbers when your teammate is the best in the league.

I get that he is being paid 2nd receiver numbers and the big contracts coming up may necessitate his departure but, if he is so terrible.why rae thee only two WR's on the team with better numbers?

Why didn't we see more Jalens? We some Tolbert but why didn't we see more Brooks?

I think he should be cut if we can find someone better. otherwise, depth is always a good thing.

One thing to consider:

$4M of 2024 salary fully guarantees on the 5th league day* of 2024 (injury guaranteed now).

*I have no idea of when the “5th league day” is

I believe March 13th is the start date of the 2024 NFL new year and is the same date that free agency starts.

My guess is the 5-day period gives a team a chance to work out a trade before releasing a player.

I agree either Tolbert or Brooks or someone can do better. No need to keep him unless he took a pay cut, but that isn't happening.

You know some of you need to watch the all 22s and realize that Gallup draws coverage away from CeeDee. The guy runs full out every play, we have 3 WRs and a TE who all demand coverage. Why do you think CeeDee has huge RAC. If you can redo our current WR corp contracts and keep them intact you'd be hard pressed to do better . If you want to take this offense to the next level. HIRE A DAMN OL COACH.

Gallup was essentially benched midway through the season. That’s not a guy your bring back carrying a decent cap hit

I gave him a pass last year due to the knee recovery. This year was not good. They can not pay him what they do for that production. Any chance of giving Cooks a 2 year deal?

I blame Shottenheimer too. That running scheme was absolute garbage. The guy was is in the league because of that name.

I'd keep him for depth. He doesn't give much cap relief even when it's post June 1 cut. The hope is Tolbert takes the #3 spot next year. This group is very top heavy so let's see who gets through camp healthy..

I'm honestly a bit worried about Gallup. Not as a player. I think Tolbert has passed him up and will replace him. Especially when you consider the differences in their contracts.

Granted, this is me playing couch counselor, but Gallup seems down. In every interview since the injury, he seems to lack the enthusiasm he had prior to the injury. The smile feels gone. Confidence is gone. So much so that I'm concerned for his mental well-being. He comes across as so private that I worry he wouldn't talk to someone on his own if things were getting out of hand. Just as a man, I hope he's OK. I hope it's just me seeing things that aren't there. Almost a 100% chance that I'm wrong. And if someone is going to come at me for being soft or projecting or...well...anything like that...you're probably right. I'm not even sure I have something concrete to point to. Do the Cowboys have mental health professionals in place? Surely they do...right?

As far as what happens with the position next year? Post June 1 cut. I don't see any way he stays. I think we pick up other receivers in the draft or free agency to churn the bottom of the roster.

The only problem with this is Gallup is one of my favorite players and personalities on the team. I would hate to see him go. That, and I think he still has something left. We'll see how he does in the playoffs.

Only has himself to blame. He was targeted many times early in the year, he just couldn’t catch the damn ball.

He got back the speed, if you check next GEN stats, you’ll see he’s in some of the top speed plays.

Just not a great receiver. Happy getting a big contract and staying in the shadows. No brainer cut in offseason for some cap relief.

Just be happy when he makes the occasional big play when top 3 options are covered, that’s what he’s there for, but we can do it cheaper.
