What's the deal with Beriault? I saw some posts recently that seem to be saying that he can't play any more.

But I have not been able to find any articles when I did a search. Is it true that he is done?

Yes, he's going to retire before he ever got to play a down.

There's going to be a halftime ceremony on Thursday celebrating his career.

Thanks guys. I really hate that for him. He looked like he could make a solid player.

Does anyone know what type of knee injury he suffered? I'm guessing it was some kind of chronic problem that could not be fixed with surgery.

Now we all see why guys come off as greedy sometimes in this game. You never know at what point if any, some horrible injury can end your career and if you didn't get paid, it was all for nothing.

Seems right since a ton of folks here wanted to put him in the ring of honor following last pre-season.

That's why I never complain about the players trying to get as much money as they can.

The owners certainly try and get as much as they can.

I can agree when we're talking about a new contract. But I firmly believe that if a player signs a contract, he should honor it.

Sometimes the body won't compliment the mind...

Was he a vested vet? If so, at least he gets some retirement pay from the NFL.

I think if his body would have cooperated he would have been a real good player.

I don't care one way or the other, but I can certainly understand those that feel the way you do.

I personally believe that I would just honor the contract, but I don't have a problem with the players under contract who do hold out for a better deal.

When guys like Beriault and Thornton retire, do they get some long term health care to cover their injuries? Wouldn't it be hard to get the pre-existing injuries covered in private health plans?

guys like berry-o make me hate people like mike williams who have all the talent in the world and a heart the size of a pea. Berry-o was all heart and thats something you either have or don't
