My grandmothers aunt died this weekend at 102 and the more i think about it the more amazed i am about just how long that is.
I've seen the world change so much is just 31 years i can't even imagine what 102 must have been like, she was already older then i am now when the Germans invaded in 1940

90-something. Not sure since birth days/months/years weren't exactly a priority back then in Vietnam.

Great Uncle (grandmother's brother) 101...rare for a male in that era. I think you'll find it's always the women who really live long, for many reasons.

Most of my family has passed on in the mid 80s though.

Paternal grandmother is still going strong at 94.5.

My other grandparents all made it to at least 88.

No way I make it that long ... and don't want to.

My great Grandmother made it to 95.

She chewed tobacco, rocked and spit. That is about all I ever saw her do. :D

She was completely blind but could always tell when I came into the room. It was a game we played. I would try to see if she knew I came in and after standing there completely silent for a minute or two, she would whisper out my name and we would fall over laughing.

She had one of the most gentlest souls ever.

I miss my Granny.

My grandmother died when she was 101 years old. She informed that she would not move to a nursing home or as she said where the old people live until she old. She was 96 when she made those comments. She did move from her home when she was 98 and she was pissed at my parents for doing it. She saw a lot of things in her life.
