What's wrong with my phone?

I was prompted to use an update two days ago, and since then my phone just makes up words.
I'll be typing something in, and I'll look up to see extra letters I didn't type, and the "suggestion" words down below will have the option I want, but when I press it, the same made up word appears in the sentence again.
I'll erase it, and type in the correct word or words, but as soon as I start typing the next word, it goes and "corrects" itself again.
I'm talking about "words" such as "infghij", or "poolihfn".....Iv I'never .......(I'm going to leave that last one there, to prove my point. What I wrote was "I've never", and that's what appeared.)
Anyone else have this issue?

Used to love swift keyboard...one of the best keyboard software apps on android IMO.

Here lately I have been having a heck of a time on my tablet with it putting in crap I don't want and a few other problems like when hitting the space bar it does not always put a space in so words run together.

Thinking about possibly removing it and just going with the default or finding another keyboard app.

I suppose I could just try shutting it off and resetting it. I don't know if that'll help, but I should have thought of that. Lol

Try that first. There is another. more invasive reset mode, not without risk of losing data.

Okay, shut it down and back on again. So far, that seems to have worked.

Yeah, I'm having similar issues. Damn things, think they are smarter then we are and normally, I wouldn't argue that point but, when I have to explain to my wife why "Much Love" translates to "More Lovers", over text, That's the point where I have to junk the POS, no matter how expensive. Nothing is worth dealing with that kind of stuff.

Mine does the ol double letter trick. type a "d" and get two "ds" Pain in the ***. I cuss out Seri about half a dozen times a day.

Yeah, I'm having similar issues. What kills me is that it's replacing what I'm typing with things that aren't even words!... and I was wrong. It's still doing it.

This is happening to me ONLY on this forum and using Swiftkey on Android. It happened around the time the ads started being injected on the bottom of the forum in mobile view, maybe a week or 2 ago.

I think it's the same here, but I'm not 100% sure if it's only here on the forum. Can you type the word "I'll", without it changing to "Illl'"?

This is what I got when I tried to type it without editing. I specifically selected the word "worked" and this is what came out. It also didn't put a comma after fine, it put a space there.

I have had that problem. I just laid the phone down and stopped texting. I'll explain the next time I see the person.

yep. it's likely the keyboard app. swift was a good one but it's like they've taken over and while on a computer i look like a literate adult (usually) on the phone i'm a 6 year old kid.
