I'm definitely not a capoligist. Far as I'm concerned I've only ever seen one and he stopped posting here.

Looks like we are 10 million under the 255 ceiling. So there's that....

Thanks. I believe the cash totals found on the same site but under a different link:

https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-...MYZTBI&state=09cd17013f544e1486835555c91e139c

…may be the info that I am seeking. The figure there is $223 million if I am reading it correctly. That would amount to 87%-88% of cash spending, which would be below the 90% floor outlined in the CBA for 2024.

Imo they'll get there with re-signing Lamb.

Then be comfortable if they can agree with France

Add in the salaries of the rookies once they starting signing their contracts before training camp.

90% of the cap for 2024 would be $229,860,000. Dallas currently sits at $247,179,171 spending between active contracts and dead cap, well above the minimum.

Are the Jones Boys capologists or cheapologists this year? :muttley:

Eitherway, feels like they’re the only ones still trying to figure out how to manage the salary cap.

They’re cheap every year. This isn’t something new.

This is over multiple years. If they are low one year, it means they were high on others.

If they were always low, there would be a lot of cap space to work with.

.....and this thread is an example of WHY we discuss and debate players contracts.

It's NOT because we give a rip about another man's money...its because the cap is a hard reality and making the numbers work is almost as important as playing the games.

The biggest sporting franchise in the world

31st in cash spending for 2024

Nothing short of a complete embarrassment

Okay. I have one site being cited, with one figure of $216 million, and another figure of $247 million. Which is which and which is more accurate?

You're probably confusing 'cash spent with 'CAP allocation'. The latter's going to be way higher due to the Dead Money we're paying and the fact our usual MO with contracts is to pay a high ( cash spend) Signing Bonus IN YR 1 of a new contract which is then prorated into later CAP spend over a 5 year period.

Thanks. So $247 million is more accurate? If so, Jones has spent cash equivalent to almost 97% of the salary cap? That would be higher than the 95% ceiling stated in the CBA.

Yeah man I miss AdamJT. It's too bad he stopped coming here cause I'd love to here his take on our cap and the Eagles model etc.

I didn't even think of "cash totals."
