FRISCO - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers made what some considered a “sneaky-good” off-season move in when they signed former Dallas Cowboys pass-rusher Randy Gregory to a cheap one-year, $3 million deal.

And they might be right … if the mercurial Gregory ever shows up for work.

Gregory has a history of issues with the league, stemming from suspensions due to the usage of illegal substances to treat mental disorders Gregory deals with.

Again … this was considered a low-risk, high-reward signing.

But now, it appears Gregory's time in Tampa Bay may end before it begins.

Gregory was absent from OTAs and mandatory mini camp and incurred more than $100,000 in fines. What's more, he offered no explanation to the team and has not reached out.

It is way past time for Gregory to be considered "low-risk, high-reward". There is no high-reward to be expected and hasn't in quite some time.

he flashed talent but was never consistent even when he was not on the weed. Though maybe he was ALWAYS on the weed.

his mental issues were probably just to great to deal with the stresses of being a NFL player. even stoned half the time.

Probably sitting in a driveway, crammed into an early 2000s Honda Civic, hotboxing it.

He just got out of bed and took his first bong hit of the day.

With the way teams keep giving him a chance you'd think he actually did a lot in this league. He's either injured, suspended, or underperforming on the field.

Gregory has been nothing but an ungrateful, lazy, should-be bum and just got progressively worse over the years. Spit in the face of an owner that gave him multiple chances, ruined his relationship with the Broncos, and now souring his relationship with a new team.

He'll be broke in 7-10 years.

I’d be checking the “coffee” shops in Amsterdam for him.
