Where is the AAGap defense?

It's not a defense, its just a package within a defense. You also really only see it ran in 3rd down passing situations which the Cowboys didn't have many of today. If you were expecting the Cowboys to live with backers in the A gaps 20+ times per game you were mistaking.

The scheme puts both DEs in the C gap, outside shoulder.

DTs are in the B gap.

Watch Mazi. He is routinely blown back to Linebacker depth.

And usually by a single offensive lineman.

You want your Nose to clog the gap and if possible, take up two blockers. This is how the backside Linebackers become unaccounted for and usually can free flow to the ball.

He's actually a negative 2 because since he is constantly getting knocked backwards, he muddies up the Linebacker's ability to get to his gap and/or make the play. His poor play allows teams to get 3 or more yards whenever they want. Parsons and Overshown are not great in run support either. The League has figured this out. The Cowboys coaching staff either won't or can't do anything about it. The Front Office doesn't want to admit they messed up.

Exactly....its horrible as a "Scheme" and doesnt exist in that capacity at the NFL level. It's a package designed for passing downs.

If you put both your DTs in the B gaps you have two undersized players responsible for the dive, you've committed 6 players up front with minimal help on the back end

Lol Zimmer sucks, he was never better than Quinn. There's a reason he wasn't coaching the past two seasons

There was a play that was either a designed QB keep or Lamar improvised, and Mazi literally escorted himself out of the area..if i didn’t see it with my own eyes I wouldnt believe it - dude is a terrible football player.

Dallas has forced maybe four combined 3rd & longs in the last 2 games. That’s why you haven’t seen that package.

Too complicated. These guys can barely play basic assignments, maybe around Week 8.

However, they'll probably beat up on NYG and start poking their chest out.

Ummm? As if this defense could pull off any worthwhile scheme anyways. This personnel isn’t equipped with the skills or mindset to succeed in today’s NFL.

Even if they were, our old, inept *** coaching isn’t capable of drawing anything up even remotely close to what we’d need to run to win games.

we are basically running DQs scheme.
Diggs looked great on that play that got Balt a 1st down when we needed the defense to make at least 1 great play in the game......................NOT!
