The grieving family of a Florida A&M drum major who died in a suspected hazing incident earlier this month is suing the school, their lawyer said.

Attorney Christopher Chestnut said Robert Champion's family is bringing the lawsuit against the historically black university in order to send a message about the dangers of hazing among college bands, Atlanta television station WXIA reported.

Champion, 26, was found in a parked band bus on Nov. 19 after the Tallahassee school lost to Bethune-Cookman in the Florida Classic football game.

Why do we have to have multiple threads, posts or other incidents that happen and ask the question...why does (enter argument, incident or article) not get the same amount of rage as Trayvon?

Seems petty to me...but maybe that is just me and I don't have the energy for mock outrage over if something is not getting the same amount of coverage or outrage as the other case.

Just as I did not get so much outrage that Jessica Lynch got all of the attention while her fellow soldiers did not.

Just as I did not get so much outrage that Jon Benet Ramsey or Natalie Holloway got so much attention in the news for a long time while many other young girls were killed around the same time got little to no attention at all.

Again...maybe it is just me.:

Because there is no racial issues to it. I think the point is that because one death has the baiters all up in arms and it gets so much traction but yet, here is another young black man, killed at the hands of other black people, there isn't the rage. Again it proves that hypocrisy reigns on high and some folks hate having the mirror held up to their face.

It doesn't requires a Brain so wise and full of sage,
to know that this day and age outrage is all the rage.

It's kind of funny how people complain about people bringing up race all the time and getting mad at it yet the same people who complain about it are some of the first to bring it up in other situations.

This case is actually somewhat old and got alot of coverage in the African-American community...and yes there was quite alot of outrage when it first occurred.

Haven't read your article, but I'd hazard a guess that it's been a year since the young man's death. People are waiting on the outcome..

It's not just you... I think it's the dumbest thing in the world to pull examples of other tragedies where the alleged have already been arrested or the legal process is running according to what's supposed to occur and then hold them up and accuse others for not having the same emotion.

People have said over and over that the issue for many was the initial lack of arrest and the seemingly lack of police action. Whatever "rage" I felt was due to those things. Now that an arrest has been and the wheels of justice of turning, I'm satisfied...and will continue to be satisfied regardless of the outcome.

Ran into someone in our division that was named Capt Sargent or maybe it was Sgt Captain. Been 20 odd years ago since I was in the military but found it kind of funny and the guy joked that although it could be annoying, it could also be funny to watch some soldiers mix up his name.
