Your choice: Jayden Daniels/2024 Washington Commanders or Dak Prescott/2016 Dallas Cowboys.

Edit/Clarifying addendum: Which of two choices had the better roster and potential of winning their respective Super Bowls entering the playoffs?

Seeing how Daniels got his team to the NFCCG. Has to be him.
I think it all boils down to personal perspective. For example, I still believe the 2007 New England Patriots was one of the best teams ever assembled but the New York Giants beat them.

They deserved their Lombardi and I do see the Giants as the better team that day. Nonetheless, my 'better team' vote would still go to New England.

The 2016 Cowboys were the better regular season team. They went 13-3 and were the number one seed. The 2024 Commanders went 12-5 and should have been 11-6 had it not been for the Hail Mary against Chicago. Overall, you would have to pick Washington because they won a couple of playoff games including a road playoff game against a very good Detroit team and went to the NFC title game, while the 2016 Cowboys went one and done at home.

Hopefully, voters will support their opinion, without suggesting or flat-out saying someone else's opinion is wrong.

This isn’t even close.

Dak had three 1st team All-Pros on the OLine.

Zeke won the rushing title by 300 yards.

Dez and Witten, older, but still useful.

The defense wasn’t great, but neither was Washington’s last year.
The defense wasn’t great, which is why we went one and done at home in the playoffs. The defense got us beat in the end. Having several All-Pros and the rushing leader doesn’t matter. It’s the end result that matters. The Cowboys had a great regular season team in 2016, but folded in the playoffs, resulting in a one and done at home. While Washington went on the road to win two playoff games, including against the number one seed.

They made it farther in the playoffs than the Cowboys have been in 30 years. Their 2024 team was better than the Cowboys 2016 team when it was all said and done. The better regular season team doesn’t always win it all. The true test of how good a team is comes in the playoffs when it matters most.

The poll wasn’t asking “who made it further in the playoffs” though.

make it so you can change your vote
That is an option, but I do not prefer it. Heck. I created a poll in the Off-Topic Zone and proceeded to pick a choice I said I would not make.

Yep. Braindead move but I left it as is. All members can make a clarifying comment about their vote like I did in that other poll thread instead.

The teams that make it further in the playoffs are the best. The playoffs determine the better teams. The best teams get it done when it matters most. According to you if a QB has a losing playoff record and doesn’t win a Super Bowl they’re a loser. Funny that you don’t think that should apply to a team.

Does anyone understand what the poll is asking?

I haven't voted because I really dont understand the question. Is this about which overall team was better? If so why are we voting for QBs? Is it which team minus the QB is better?

The 2016 Cowboys were the better team top to bottom, but Jayden Daniels was the better rookie of the two QBs.

For me, Daniels making the NFC Championship game automatically wins it.

Dak and the 2016 crew had a great season, and it was super fun to watch, but getting knocked out of the playoffs early disqualifies them for me in this vote.

Edit: Cowboys may have had the better overall team, but Washington making it to the NFC Championship game means they played better football, thus winning me over on this vote.
