Did 2016 Dallas or 2024 Washington have the Better Team Going into their Playoffs? (Read Post 66)

Who had the superior playoff-caliber team during their rookie season?

Defense is part of the team and that’s what we were lacking and that’s what we’ve always been lacking. Washington can stop the run. We can’t even though Washington lost their best receiver. They still had a shot.
Washington was putrid versus the run last year… They ranked 30th

Well. Crap.

I will stop being stubborn. @zrinkill is right.

I edited the poll and thread title. Prior votes can now be changed to what members may feel is a better choice.

Apologies to everyone.

If ever there was a loaded question, this is it lol
Personally I’d say Dallas because we were better balanced…
Anyone saying it was Washington simply because they got further in the playoffs, are saying they were equal to Switzer’s team that lost in San Francisco because they both lost the NFCCG… but it’s not as black and white as that.

Bold?> I take full responsibility for any previous miscommunication based upon how I originally worded the OP and poll question.

TMC I cant stand his posting style hes the worst poster on the board but he may be right on this one.
QB (dallas)
RB (dallas)
OL (dallas)
WR (push)
TE (push)
defense (push)
coaching (washington)

I agree on everything but WR and defense. 2014 Dez yes…2016 Dez? I’d rather have Scary Terry over Dez and T Will.

thats fine man i was probably being generous on the defense. Most statistical defensive categories throughout the season would have the cowboys as having a better defense in 16 than Washington in 24 they just was trash in playoffs and Rogers owned them. The reason i said push on WR because besides Terry who was light years better than 16 dez who else did the commanders have? Brian Robinson was used in pass game? either way in 16 i believe Dak had a better cast

Defense after looking may be a push. I like their defensive line and linebackers but I can see that going either way. In regards to the Cowboys passing game…they were all essentially tired right after. It was Brice Butler, T Will, Dez and Beasley. Beasley was solid. I just didn’t think ours was that impressive either. I look at it as a passing attack led by past their prime Dez and Witten.

This isn’t even close.

Dak had three 1st team All-Pros on the OLine.

Zeke won the rushing title by 300 yards.

Dez and Witten, older, but still useful.

The defense wasn’t great, but neither was Washington’s last year.
I mean it's not even close when you consider this was Quinn's first year.

Dak had arguably 4 all-pro, HOF linemen, a HOF tight end...A HOF-caliber RB ...lol...c'mon...

and he had Dez at the end of his prime.

This is a sad poll.

2015 is now our version of the Golden age (at least this century)

OK I'll play. Dallas had the stronger roster...but as per usual they were mentally softer, and folded under pressure....just like always.

Wash overachieved

Dallas choked and underachieved

Cowboys had a much stronger roster and it wasnt even close. Cowboys had 5 Pro Bowlers and Skins had just 1 and it was indicative of the overall talent level
Skins had 3 Pro Bowlers not 1….and Frankie Luvu didn’t even make the Pro Bowl…..

Also had 4 All Pros in Luvu, Terry, Ekeler and Bobby Wagner. One thing y'all will do is lie on this site lol.

The point being that people still talk about Dak like HE is the engine that drives the team is a joke. Dak needs TONS of support to win and that's all his history has shown us. He won't give the team a discount and so the overall product pays the price. Sure management could be better...but Jaydon Daniels showed us that a rookie can take a roster without 3 HOF lineman and a HOF tight end and a RB having a historic rookie season and a top 5 WR to the brink of a championship. You can even argue - if he maintains the same level of play - he's ALREADY better than "all-pro" Dak.
