Which rookies look good in camp? Has anyone heard?

I saw Smith can block and the DE looks like he was born to be an nfl player, but what about Tolbert, or the other OL? I guess the TE just signed so who knows, but what about any of the UDFAs especially the RBs? Or the NT they drafted :) ?

Linemen always hard to know until the pads come on.

From what I heard they aren't really in camp. The CBA only requires them to walk out onto the practice field for 20 minutes, pose for the media, then they go back to playing video games.

NFL practices are cake compared to what they used to be.

Can we really tell anything since they can't hit or put on pads?
With the new rules, the OTA's are just good for learning plays from what I can tell.

Ferguson & Schultz seems like a nice set to have on the field at the same time hope KM is cooking up some nice 2 TE sets . I think along with Tolbert & Washington hopefully much better line play the offense could be better then 2021 when it would disappear from time to time like 9 points in KC and 17 in the playoffs.

I love seeing who ultimately shows they belong on this level. I mean, who among us would have predicted a couple of years ago that UDFA Terence Steele would become a starting NFL tackle. I think the favorites among his UDFA group that year to make the roster were Ladarius Hamilton, Ron'Dell Carter and maybe Francis Bernard. Carter doesn't have a team. We let Bernard go this offseason and no one has signed him.

Nothing's been proven at this early juncture, although the general consensus of our draftees and the UDFA's combined, seem to be solid. My fervent hope lies in the fact that we'll need an experienced backup at our left OT spot to be filled. Hopefully, that might be attended to as soon as possible. It seems just a matter of time before Tyron Smith misses several games this year with his routine injuries. It's a pattern that's been ongoing for a few years, now.

True, but way back, they did not have off season workouts or OTA's, or mini camps.
They showed up often out of shape, as it was not a year round thing as it is now.

They had longer hard hitting 2 a day camps, and played 6 preseason games. So game one they did not come out flat as they do now days.
I am not sure when all of that changed and the OTA's were started. Maybe late 80's after the strike season it started to change. Not sure.

For sure though, they are nothing compared to what they used to be, and now even have limited practices in pads and hitting. No more 2 a days. Even when they had 2 a days, one of them was only a walk through. Not sure back in the 70's if 2 a days both were hitting or not.

It still takes 2 to 4 games and at times more to start the season to get teams in sync. And now with only 3 PS games. Really can't tell until at least week 3 for the real team to show what it has, or doesn't have. Except for the better prepared teams from better coaching and / or smart / better players.

Just a few weeks until training camp. Hang in there!

More like first week of August, ..last week in July is more just officially reporting and walk throughs at first.

Post NFL draft and mini camps, and even post NBA finals ... this is always the most boring and longest drawn out droughts we'll have to endure until training camp really gets going.

3 day mini camp this week. Then the long 6 weeks or so before ore TC. Last year with the extra PS gamer the HOF game, it did not seem as long.
This year will seem much longer. And as you said, the 1st week, what do they really do. I think from the CBA they can't have a padded practice until they have at least 3 practices in shorts and shells.
Then the full dress practices they can't even hit right away.

So they report day 1, that is it.
Day 2 physicals and they used to do conditioning tests, but seem to have stopped that somewhat.
Then I think a day of nothing as the state of the team PC which usually has nothing to offer, especially as to any injured players. But then will say who is starting on PUP / NFI...and as usual no details as to how long they will be on it.

Day 4, 1st walk through practice. This should put it around August 1st. I seen where most teams may be reporting around July 27th. I think that was the same time last year. Except for those in the HOF game.
