Who do you like that might not have big time production but has the traits to be an NFL stud?

DE: Mykel Williams / Shemar Stewart - I’m normally not a fan of power Edge rushers but I’m not sure you even call these guys that. Their burst and bend for their size is absolutely absurd. I think they’re both arguably the best edge setter in the draft and have flashed as pass rusher just need refinement and the ability to finish more.

WR: Isaiah Bond - 2023 tape is 1st round and 2024 tape is a giant question mark. 4.3 speed and easy seperator that would’ve had 1000 yards at Bama if not for the erratic QB play

Ath: Savion Williams - WR? RB? Wildcat QB? Check to all. 6’3 225 freak show that moves like a slot WR. I think the production is slightly down as a WR bc he carried the ball 50 times.

RB: Nick Singleton - size / speed combo is going to be laughable at the combine. Split carries with another great PSU RB but I’m always a fan of 220 pound RBs that flirt with 4.3 speed.

Not saying they’re all 1st rounders but love the potential of these guys. Who you got?

Aireontay Ersery - OT Minnesota - 6'6" 330 with rare power and great quickness. He's played a lot of college football to be as raw as he is though. If he cleans up technique then he'll be a great OT for a long time. Probably a round 2 or 3 guy. Could sneak into 1.

Walter Nolen - DT Ole Miss - 6'3 305 His explosiveness for a DL is rare. He plays a little out of control and inconsistent but he is consistenr about causing chaos in the backfield. He's going to go early in round 1 and would be a great pick at 12.

Dont'e Thornton Jr - WR Tennessee - 6'5" 214 Long strider with speed to take the top off the defense. Not consistent however and not a great route runner at this point.

Will Johnson, Michigan. I think he is going top 8 but I believe he is the best cornerback in the draft. Reminds me of Charles Woodson when he won the Hiesman. Goodness I hope he runs a slow forty so he will fall to us.

Deone Walker gotta be top of list. Shavon Revel too. Broaddus buddy who is a scout in the southeast says Revel hands down best corner in the draft. We ll see how he comes back from the ACL.

Both def have the tools. Walker seems raw and injury guys scare me a little.

Revel is the favorite to be our second round pick on the ACL injury alone.

I'm really starting to take a liking to Shemar Stewart. Doesn't have the stats, but his traits are off the board. Pretty raw with his pass rush skills, but those can be taught, but the traits you can't teach. At 6'6" 290 he moves very well, and his versatility allows him to play anywhere along the defensive line, including standing up as a 3/4 edge. He's already an advanced run stopper and pairing him with Kneeland would make for a stout edge. After he tests don't be surprised when he moves up the boards and being an option at 12 wouldn't be far fetched.

It's time for me to unabashadely hype up Tommy Mellott again!

I have seen quite a few of his games now. QB, Montana State. 6'0, 208. 31 TDs and 2 INTs on the year. 1,000+ rushing yards. 15-1 record this year. Completion % was 67.8, and it has gotten better every year he's played.

Traits? He is ridiculously fast. He has a quick release. His short to mid range balls are nice and accurate. He moves around in the backfield well.

It's hard to scout him because of Montana State's gimmicky offense. But I see him make those big boy, "NFL level" throws on occasion. Timing throws, touch throws, throws on the run. But his rushing ability is his best attribute.

Some of you who are better at scouting, tell me what you think. 8:33. 9:50. 11:59. 13:39. 14:54. 17:40. 19:44, and the play at 19:58 which is his best of the year.

I'm not saying he's gonna be the next Tom Brady, but I like his style of play, his moxie, his toughness, his quick thinking and ability to make plays.

Watched him vs NDSU. Like you said was hard to judge based off their offense. Thought a few times when the defense blitzed and left 1 v 1 on the outsides, he tried to tuck it and run for it too quickly than to take a shot passing for the TD on IMO a favorable matchup.
Think the above play I'm recalling was when they were down by 14 near the redzone. Know the announcers for a bit were ragging on that too.

Traits guys I watch that "could" end up being stars in the NFL, or flame out early.
Deone Walker -- he has the traits to be better than JJ Watts, but does he have the heart and determination.........who knows
Nic Scourton, Shemar Stewart, Shemar Turner...........all have traits, but all need to develop. Will they?

I have only been watching a few SEC D Linemen here lately, but these 4 I think could make it in the NFL, with potential star ceilings. Floor is pretty low as well though.

IMO, these are BOOM or Bust or middling players -- all depending on what they themselves have inside of them.

Yea some of these Edges have the Kwity Paye prospect vibe going.

Build out of a lab, elite traits just don’t have the eye popping production.

The Twins Kenneth Grant and Tyleik Williams. Big, uber athletic DT's that have +pass rush potential but no real plan other than out 330 lb'ing their opposition

Shemar Stewart does have some Cam potential (Heyward/Jordan), but needs alot of work to get there

A+
This Dude is a big waiting to happen, and underrated so far in the process. One of my favorite WRs. Dallas could use him.
