That's right, I said it....2011. I apologize to the casual draft fan but I know most draftniks already have their felines ready to go. Here's mine. Feel free to comment and definitely add your own.

1. Bruce Carter LB North Carolina - The UNC defense has 3 or 4 guys who would have been first or second round picks this year. The defense is going to be scary good and Carter is one of the main reasons. For those of you addicted to college football like me, the Tar Heels scrimmage will be on ESPN tomorrow (4/10)morning.

2. Deunta Williams S North Carolina - Suddenly I'm a North Carolina fan? He started at UNC as a WR and has become one of the top safeties in the nation. My only concern is that he is older than current draft eligible safeties Berry, Thomas, and Mays.

3. Rahim Moore S UCLA - I have and continue to be a safety snob. I love safeties. Moore led the nation in inerceptions last year. I really wish he would have chosen the other college in Los Angeles.

4. Patrick Peterson CB LSU - I hate LSU. If LSU was playing the Taliban I would be torn who to root for. Peterson is the real deal. He is a shutdown corner from Day 1.

5. Allen Bradford RB USC - I got to have one USC guy here. Bradford has waited 4 years to be the man and Lane Kiffin is making him the feature back. He's a bigger, faster Marion Barber. Check out his Heisman pose....

Devon Brown, WR, Wake Forest

wakeforest_0.jpg

After a limited redshirt Freshman campaign last year, Devon posted 671 yards receiving this past year with 6 touchdowns as Wake Forest's leading receiver. He also returns punts and kicks, although with an increased role in the offense saw limited action returning punts and kicks.

Plus, he's my little cousin :D

How about Blood Diamond Julio Jones?

Jake Locker has the name, and the ability of not just a franchise QB, but an elite QB.

Not really a pet cat persay, but a kid I played with in Coppell High School.

Emmanuel Moody, RB, Florida Gators (USC xfer)

Nah - he'd probably be an UDFA prospect at best, but it'll be interesting to see what he does this year. He's a good kid.

Naturally, this is waaaaay too early, but I feel like playing anyway... what follows are a list of players I either saw and liked last year, or that I have heard good things about... the ones in bold font are my pet cats:

Case Keenum, QB, Houston... 6-2, 210 pounds, 4.75 second 40
Noel Devine, RB, West Virginia... 5-8, 175 pounds, 4.35 second 40
Donald Buckram, RB, UTEP... 5-9, 195 pounds, 4.45 second 40

Sampson Genus, C, South Florida... 6-1, 315 pounds, 5.2 second 40
Rod Huntley, C/OG, UTEP... 6-3, 315 pounds, 5.25 second 40
Devon Cunningham, OG, Fresno State... 6-6, 350 pounds, 5.3 second 40

Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin... 6-7, 325 pounds, 4.95 second 40
Kyle Hix, OT, Texas... 6-7, 320 pounds, 5.2 second 40
Britt Mitchell, OT, Texas... 6-5, 310 pounds, 4.95 second 40
Chris Hairston, OT, Clemson... 6-7, 325 pounds, 5.1 second 40
Ray Dominguez, OT, Arkansas... 6-4, 330 pounds, 5.2 second 40

Christian Ballard, DE, Iowa... 6-5, 286 pounds, 4.8 second 40
Allen Bailey, DE, Miami... 6-4, 290 pounds, 4.8 second 40
Jerrell Powe, DT, Mississippi... 6-2, 3240 pounds, 5.15 second 40
Kendrick Ellis, DT, Hampton... 6-5, 340 pounds, 5.25 second 40
Phil Taylor, DT, Baylor... 6-4, 350 pounds, 5.3 second 40

Sam Acho, OLB/DE, Texas... 6-3, 260 pounds, 4.65 second 40
Von Miller, OLB, Texas A&M... 6-2, 240 pounds, 4.55 second 40

Curtis Brown, CB, Texas... 6-0, 186 pounds, 4.4 second 40
Chykie Brown, CB, Texas... 6-0, 186 pounds, 4.4 second 40
DeAndre McDaniel, S, Clemson... 6-1, 210 pounds, 4.45 second 40

There's 21 to start you off... but only 6 pet cats at this point... :D

And yes, I do know I have 5 Horns and 2 Miners on this list... what can I say, I follow 3 teams closely, the Horns and the Miners and the Virginia Cavaliers... sadly, I can't think of a single Cav that looks like an NFL prospect this coming season... maybe one or two of them will surprise me...

Uhhhhh, no... I'm dead morally certain that he won't be anywhere near a first rounder when it's all said and done...

Really? A 6'2" CB who I've heard nothing but good things about?

I'll defer to you since you are a Cavalier fan. I'll get to see him up close and personal September 11th when USC hosts Virginia.

Not really a pet cat, but a friend of mine is a big Badgers fan. He wants John Moffitt to be a Cowboy. I'll be keeping an eye on the dude this year.

Unfortunately, yes... the Cavs did not have a good defense last year...
