Bucs, becuase the Panthers play the Giants in a few weeks so that could easily be two losses for the Cats.

Panthers. If Tampa and Dallas end up with the same record, Dallas owns the tie breaker for a wild card spot.

We'll hold the tiebreaker over Carolina as well if they lose here and to the Giants. Maybe even to the Saints.

Go Bucs.

We want the Bucs to win out.
Win this week and then beat Atlanta next week.
As long as Wash loses one more, we are in.

Is that with us losing next week, or the week after?

You just aren't thinking things through. If Bucs lose tonight, the Falcons/Bucs loser will still be behind us after next week, even IF we lose to the Ravens (provided we beat the Giants of course). In taking a look at conference records and games left to be played, we are in pretty decent shape if Tampa loses tonight. As in, we could still lose to the Ravens in a couple of weeks and have that Eagles game mean everything. Their tie really made it interesting! They win out, we lose against the Ravens, they're a half-game ahead of us, which won't mean squat if we sweep them this year.

However, when it comes to conference tiebreakers, the Giants game means EVERYTHING. We must win this game!!

I would think we need Carolina to win. If tampa ends with the same record as us, we have the tiebreaker.

3 If scenarios

If Carolina beats Tampa
If Tampa beats Atlanta next week
If Eagles beat Commanders next week

Then the cowboys could still lose a game and still get in.

Seed # as of now

6. Cowboys (8-5)
7. Atlanta (8-5)
8. Eagles (7-5-1)
9. Commanders (7-6)
10. Bears (7-6)
11. Saints (7-6)

The rest of the teams don't matter.

Here are the results when you include the 3 "if" and how it would look on week 17.

6. Eagles (9-5-1)
7. Cowboys (9-6)
8. Atlanta (9-6)
9. winner between Bears/Saints*
10. Loser between Bears/Saints*

*Commanders (8-7) would be out due to a loss to the eagles.
*Not sure where that would place the bears since they got a better division record at 3-2 (needs green bay remaining) than the cowboys at 2-2 (needs giants, and eagles).

That would mean that it could come down to the cowboys vs eagle game to determine who gets the 6th spot. That would definitely make it to Sunday Night Football.

Also you could have other scenarios where Tampa beats both Carolina and Atlanta.

Things would be much more clear after next week games. To make things more simple just win and your in.

The Panthers. They win tonight and we're currently the 5th seed.

6. Eagles (9-5-1)

10. Loser between Bears/Saints*

But don't forget how it would look if Atlanta beats Tampa next week...provided the rest holds true...

6. Eagles (9-5-1)
7. Cowboys (9-6)
8. Tampa Bay (9-6) We win this tiebreaker in the head-to-head

Again, it would be really, really helpful if Tampa loses tonight -- it gives us yet another path to the playoffs.

Edit: I am wrong, TB is currently 9-3. Ding dangit.

If we win out, it's better for us if Tampa Bay wins tonight.

If we lose one more, and the loss comes against Baltimore or Philadelphia, it's better for us if Tampa Bay wins tonight.

If we lose one more, and the loss comes against the Giants, it's better for us if Carolina wins tonight.

So unless someone can tell the future, it's difficult to know which way we want tonight's game to go.

Tampa is 9-3, if they lose to Carolina and Atlanta they still would be a game ahead of us at 9-5.
