Jayden Daniels.
Without question he’s the guy. I think after Williams and Maye come off the board teams will be looking to trade up for this kid. If he’s there the Giants would be stupid not to take him.

Yep, after winning the Heisman, and going thru the draft process Daniels should be a top 5 pick.
Top 5? I don't know.

I've been around Jayden since he was 16 and starting at Cajon High in the San Bernardino area . I was on the field for about 20 of his games at Arizona State, including the Spring game when he started as a 17-year old. He was about 6'2" and 170 lbs. 6 years later, he's maybe 185. Talented kid but if I was an NFL GM, I'd be worried about his thin frame and inability to add bulk.

I like him. In fact @JBS can tell you that I've said he was an NFL QB since way back. I just don't know if "top 5 pick" like him.

I don't really know how much "flying up" is left for him. There's already a lot of mocks with him going top 10 lol

I'm not sure I'm sold on a 5th year who took that long to produce, but it's hard to argue with the production.

IMO his size is really the only thing at this point that might push him back a bit. Daniels has really improved. And teams that need a QB I think are going to come for him. I don’t think he gets past the Giants and wouldn’t be surprised if a team moved up to get him.

Jayden Daniels NFL Draft 2024: Scouting Report for LSU QB

POSITIVES
— Elite athleticism. Excellent burst, agility, and speed for the position.
— Above-average pocket management and toughness.
— Above-average process within the pocket. Ties his feet to his eyes to remain in a throwing position late in the progression.
— Good ability to create. Dangerous runner with sparse flashes of creativity as a thrower outside the pocket.
— Very good deep-ball accuracy. Consistently drops it in the bucket.

NEGATIVES
— Skinny frame with a reckless abandon as a ball-carrier. Opens himself up to future injury.
— Mediocre velocity. Can sometimes struggle driving the ball into tight windows.

I'm thinking these QB hungry teams will shoot him up the board because we see it almost every year. I'll take your word for it, and it's cool for you to have been around to see his game.

If I was drafting, I would want to draft the 3rd or 4th qb taken. I think you would get more value and have a decent shot of hitting . I like Jayden Daniels and Bo Nix the best.

I have seen Mitchell mocked as high as end of first, so yeah he is flying up draft boards.

SCOUTING REPORT: STRENGTHS

  • Attacks the ball with authority, with quick read-and-react ability. Willing and physical tackler, flashes toughness and aggressive nature vs. the run.
  • Very aggressive attacking receiver blocks and tackles like a safety.
  • Mitchell has the straight-line speed to recover. His ball skills are tremendous, with good hands and the potential to take it to the house any time Mitchell gets his hands on the ball.
  • Flashes intimidating attitude and will crush tiptoeing receivers across the middle.
  • Shows the click-and-close ability to backpedal and the ball skills to make plays. He has loose hips to go along with good top-end speed, and he can flip around to turn and run in coverage.
  • Mitchell has good size and is a fluid mover, capable of mirroring quickness underneath

SCOUTING REPORT: WEAKNESSES

  • Gave up far too many big plays in college, especially concerning since Mitchell has recovery speed to make up for missteps.
  • Mitchell runs well, but he doesn’t have elite recovery speed.
  • Has a high backpedal and loses a step in transition. Plays with adequate speed but there are concerns about his ability to handle the truly explosive speedsters of the NFL.

I like what Ive seen with Sweat. Want to watch him more when the season is over. Not great lateral movement from what I saw, but I haven't focused on him too much in the Horns games Ive watched. Wont matter a ton since he is a quality pass rusher. That gives 3 down ability even if he is a space filler on run downs.

I dont know about "shooting up though" he seems like a 20-40 range guy. Somewhere in there. A very strong combine could get him into the top side of that range. I dont think he climbs any higher than that though.

He was on Darí and Mel this AM and said he was 206 pounds now.

I love me some Payton Wilson!!! Kid is an absolute tackling machine.

LB likely isn’t a pressing need with Clark, Overshown and Bell. But I have him as a mid-2nd right now and would sprint to turn his card in
