yeah your friend is right. for some reason page felt the need to not sleep or eat for 4 days and only drink energy drinks than he had his "rampage" so to speak. but it's all good now and shogun is gonna get his head knocked off his shoulders on new years eve.

Thought he did something to his knee in the griffin fight that required surgury? or did he already go under the knife ?

When Babe Ruth began obliterating the Home Run and RBI records people created a new word...Ruthian. When you hear a baseball announcer say it was a Ruthian blast, it means it brings back memories of the Babe.

When Wayne Gretzky did the same thing to the record books in Hockey do you know what they called his efforts? Yep, Ruthian.

I won't say Babe Ruth is the greatest athlete ever, but he forever changed the landscape of sports.

A large part of that was having the love of the East Coast media.

Babe set all sorts of standards to be sure but his legend has evolved even beyond his 'Ruthian' game because broadcasters of his era loved him and those who came shortly after worshiped him.

Basesball - Ruth
Swimming - Phelps
Basketball - Jordan
Hockey - Gretzkey
Football - Jim Brown
Boxing- Ali

no surgery just a bone bruise. Forrest leg kicks are very underrated. their's a video online where a reporter asked to do a interview with Forrestand Forrest agreed. But Forrest would only do it if he could give the reporter 1 kick to his thigh. the reporter agreed and Forrest kicked him and wound up fracturing the reporters femur. I'll try to find the vid.

Football - you really can't say one person is the best; too many positions that take different skill sets. Not like basketball, baseball, boxing, swimming, cycling, etc. Jim Brown might be the best RB of all time.

MMA - Faber? Until he fights Kid Yamamoto, he will get more respect. Please don't mention him with the likes of Fedor, Sakaraba in his prime (who fought people that weighs much more them him), and Rickson.

:lmao: dude is a lie. who has he ever fought?

Alot of top BJJ fighters says he is the best ever. In his time, he was. He would have gotten beaten by the guys nowadays b/c they are more versatile. Uber is not even in Rickson's class.

And IMO, Tyson does deserver having his name amosts Ali's. Just cuz Tyson is a nutcase doesn't mean he wasn't one of the greatest of all time and completely DOMINANT in his prime (pre Robin Givens).

+1

That girl and her mother really messed up that troubled mind.

How is swimming not a sport? It may not be a widely popular sport, but it is very demanding.

Who did Tyson fight? He was dominating for a short period of time, but unfortunately he never had to face great competition. He can't really control who was out there to fight during his era, but there weren't too many great fighters at that time. Ali had Frazier and Foreman. Tyson had Bowe.

The Jordan/Chamberlain debate is a good one. Chamberlain was a man among boys. Few of his contemporaries were in his class. Everyone likes to put Russell up there, but Russell had the luxury of playing with very good teams. Teams that were much better than any team Chamblerain played on. Wilt dominated his era statistically. To average 50 points a game is a joke. Same with having over 20 rebounds a game or leading the league in assists. I think Jordan is the better player, but he didn't dominate his era at quite the level as Wilt. Mainly because the overall level of competition was way up when Jordan played.

I am not a hockey fan, but what Gretsky has done is pretty impressive.

Ruth dominated his sport in the same manner as Wilt. There are better players than Ruth now, but he was way above the competition of his era.

Jim Brown is also at that level. The next leading rushers of that era were a clear second to Brown. These guys were just ahead of their time. They would still be good in today's era, but not alone and not as dominate.

Team sports: it has to be Gretzky (although I contend that had Mario stayed healthy, he could have made the debate interesting.)

Individual sports: Probably Tiger Woods, especially considering how hard it is to dominate that sport. I am however, always surprised that nobody mentions Steffi Graf when they talk about dominant athletes.

She was more dominate than Sampras in the tennis world.

MJ FTW.

MMA: Anderson Silva

As good as Fedor is Anderson Silva is the cream of the crop in fighting.
