Who is the fastest CB in the league?

Didn't Tony Simmons (Patriots WR) run in the 10.2 range at Wisconsin?

Simmons never posted an official time of 10.48 or faster (he's not listed among Wisconsin's top 10 all-time). He did have a wind-aided 10.15, which doesn't count as an official time.

In the 60, Simmons' PR was 6.75.

By the way, B.J. Tucker is in Wisconsin's top 10 in both events -- 10.35 in the 100 and 6.70 in the 60.

Did Vick ever run track? He has to be close to the fastest nfl man ever. And in reference to Adam's list, it's pretty telling that most of those names faster than TNew are wide receivers not DB's. That's just nuts. I didn't realize that TNew was really that fast. WOW!

There are lots of ways to judge times and speed.

Adam's using official World-Recognizable track times and that makes a lot of sense but is not necessarily the fastest CB ever.

The fastest CB ever is almost assuredly Darrell Green. Regardless of 60 M time Green was a faster player on the field in full pads than anyone I have seen except perhaps Deion. TNew is plenty fast though and has speed for days.

Now he needs to attack the ball and make QBs pay for thinking about throwing to his side of the field.

DeAngelo Hall won the fastest man contest back in February.

There wasn't a fastest man contest back in February.

Coincidentally, Darrell Green is the fastest cornerback on the list of official track times.

if you bring up Newman running down Moss, than you have to bring up Lee Evans running down Newman :laugh2:

You have to count speed with pads because that's the only way they play...

Newman was running on a bum knee that day so that does not count at all.

Didn't Duanta Robinson run a 4.2 something at the combine

I think that would be true regardless of measurements but it is hard to say unless all these guys were tested in the 60M on an official track in their prime.

Deion was faster than Green by the time they raced but Green was a lot older by then.

40 times are almost universally ignored outside of the NFL because it is all about the start.
