Let's assume Cowboys address another area in rd 1 and don't sign a fa starting wr, is there any 2nd rd receivers who can make an immediate impact?

-Higgins-huge receiver that would instantly help in the red zone
-Bech-another good sized receiver, but may lack top end speed
-Royals-good small schooled receiver, but how will he translate against tougher competition?
-Tez Johnson-great separator, but lack of size will have him further down some boards
-Eric Ayomanor-another big receiver that lacks separation
-Williams-has to learn the route tree and some question if he can pick up an NFL playbook
-Bond-hearing the same things that we heard about Jalin Hyatt, more of a straight line speedster

I'm not a fan of many of these 2nd rd receivers and think if they go the draft route, might have to take their guy in rd 1.

Whoever is the best player that falls…

Golden and Ayomanor are probably my top 2 with Tre Harris being a potential if he tests well.

Isaiah Bond is the wildcard. 2023 tape was an easy 1st round eval and he’d probably be my WR3 if he built off that but this year was a disaster…was it the injury or something else?

I think Royals is a better prospect than Tolbert was, but you could easily get the same results. Savion Williams is incredibly talented, but Ive heard he could be similar to Cordelle Patterson when he struggled at WR. Higgins would be my favorite as we don't really have a quality big bodied WR

I think Golden will be the last of the 1st rd receivers taken

There is a lot to like with the top 4 in rd 1, but the big questions start after them. We really need a receiver to step in and make an immediate impact

No! After the top three, you are not getting a player THAT much better than Tolbert, especially for Dak to trust. We will know a lot by the draft. If they don't address it in free agency with a quality player ( not bottom feeder ), then 12 is def an option IMO.

Royals is super intriguing…I can’t take him in the 2nd but def in the 3rd.

Agree he’s a better prospect than Tolbert. Had big games against his best competition and did really well at the senior bowl.

I’ve seen he might be a legit 4.4 guy and with his physicality…whew.

Stephon Diggs.......tell me it doesn't have Stephen Jones written on it (lol)

At 31, Diggs is among the oldest wide receivers to still perform at a high level. After a significant injury, expecting him to perform at his peak is ambitious.

There is a slight possibility that Diggs might suit up for Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season. Neither the player nor the franchise has provided any concrete updates about his healing process. His involvement in the offseason workouts might clear the air about his comeback.

I think there’s a log jam of 2nd round WRs that could fall to the 3rd. I def think you can get a higher ceiling prospect than Tolbert.

It would be the most Cowboys signing ever…older big name player coming off of an injury.

If the meds are clear though I’m on board knowing how we operate in FA.

I'm not interested in drafting another WR for the sake of having a different guy in the room. I want a player closer to Lamb's talent than Tolbert......it's a weak draft for blue-chip WRs. Hell, just sign a free agent and take another shot at drafting one in 2026.

Even if this is true....how long to reach that ceiling? Remember, we are dealing with a 3-year plan ....lol
I hear your point…but there have been some really productive 3rd round+ WRs.

Ideally we get a FA or an early pick WR but we just can’t ignore the position.

Taking a WR at 12, even with the emphasis on running more? I'm not sure about that. I'd go DT or trade down.

Golden is a good choice .

Savion Williams 6’5 225 can be used in jet sweeps has lined up in the backfield gotten the ball directly . Golden much more polished but Williams can be quite a threat .

Agreed. I can't see them just relying on Mingo, Tolbert, etc., to step up. If we do nothing in FA at the position, then I think it is definitely an option. Of course, I hope we address No. 2 receiver in FA, so we can focus on other positions early in the draft.

I think it's either fa or 1st rd if they want an immediate impact receiver. Really like Burden's high upside, but I feel the most ready player is Ebuka. Now he doesn't project as a #1 receiver, nor considered at top 12 player in this class.

Jack Bech and Tez Johnson.
