I went on a breakfast sandwich kick a year ago and tried them all based on the sausage instead of bacon. The clear winner is:

Carl's Jr

Their biscuit is hands down the best but the sausage could be a bit better yet isn't bad. Other places tend to have stale(harder) biscuits due to the heat lamp they stay under.

I will say McDonalds has great sandwhiches if you get a fresh one but that is playing roulette.

Carl's Jr does have the biscuit nailed as far as FF goes in the category of breakfast meats but the one from Chick-Fil-A is pretty special.

But in the breakfast sandwich category, I'll go with Jack-in-the-Box's grilled sourdough breakfast sammich. And it has enough grease to qualify as "Hangover Helper".

Excellent point about getting whatever you want fresh and the best way to get that is to order it "not as it comes". Add or subtract something and ask for a newly created sammich. Don't buy your food off the rack.

It's mine.

Fried Egg, fried garlic bologna, couple slices of cheese, all between two pieces of bread and some chopped green chile or Tabasco in a pinch. Slap a little butter on the outside of the bread, throw it in a skillet and just let it brown up for a couple minutes.

Do you have a window in your kitchen that will serve as a drive though?

Not a bkfst sand. but there is a sandwich place out here called Togo's. They have been running a commercial for the new pastrami, aged Vermont cheddar, dijon and pickles on a pretzel bun. It looked absolutely mouthwatering and I have been wanting it for a week now.

Well, tried it today and it was terrible. The bun was so dry, I needed a few drinks to get it down. The mustard was regular, not dijon and the pastrami had a 50:50 ratio of meat to fat. It was chewy, stringy and disgusting. The only good part was the cheese.

Talk about false advertising

The 'old' Melon would've simply stated: " yer' ol' lady after you leave for work"o_O

Yet the new& refined Melon votes for McDonald's only because that's the only one I've stopped at the most.
* you can wave bye-bye to that $10 bill, wherever you stop& there's nothing all that fast about it anymore, either

** I do the whataburger biscuits & gravy w/OJ the most of anything:starspin:

The 5 Guys place in the Atlanta airport has a wonderful breakfast sandwich. Fresh egg/bacon/cheese sandwich is so good. I wish all 5 Guys had a breakfast option.

I don't like any fast food breakfast sandwiches. They always seem soggy and or damp. When i was younger i always enjoyed NJ diner breakfast sandwiches, they were great or at least i thought so at the time. Can't eat that anymore, it tastes nasty now. The best breakfast sandwiches are homemade. If your in a must need for getting breakfast sandwiches on the go you want to get them from a homemade bagel shop if you have any close by.

When you compare...

-Price (needs to be less than $4)
-Availability (need to have access to it in every part of the country)
-Consistency (has to be the same no matter where you get it)
-Flavor (If it ain't good why bother?)

For me the clear answer is the Egg McMuffin.

That's about the perfect breakfast sandwich IMO if you consider all four factors.
