Indications are that Biadasz is available for practice this week and has a good shot of playing. That leaves McGovern, Smith and Peters at LT & LG.
Is the coaching staff really going to flip Tyler Smith back to LT after starting Peters over him?
Or do they leave the line the way it was last week and have McGovern on the bench?

Just seems pretty crazy to me that this is even a question honestly. The decision to play Peters at LT over Smith was/is perplexing to me. Is Peters not able to play LG for some reason?

I think that Smith would function best at RG, but the RT spot will never be solved without him attempting the right tackle position. I think that Tyler Smith at LT is the best, both short term and long term.

Tossing Zack Martin out to RT would deprive the Cowboys of the best player at his best position, which is questionable. I'd bet Peters could play occasionally at RG, share duties with whomever. Biadasz, Farniok, McGovern, have not been distinguished at any position, except for Biadiasz' mental aspect of the game, making the calls for the line. So, he'd be the most effective at Center.

Trying a new line for the playoffs is likely a recipe for disaster, but the best combo would be Tyler Smith at LT, Tyron Smith at RG (his footwork is well suited to the right side anyway) Biadasz at C, Peters at LG as often as possible, and Zack Martin at RT.

The other option is to hope that the existing lineup finally clicks, although there's little reason to suspect that right now. It is certainly quite a puzzle to put the right pieces in the right places for the O-line.

Tyron Smith plays left tackle if McGovern is available to go at LG.

The offensive line got humiliated last week so that is the best-case scenario right now.
I don’t think that’s even in the realm of thought. That involves way too much movement at this point in the season.

edit: never mind

If Biadasz can play— no doubt we would go with:

LT Smith
LG McG
C Biadasz
RG Martin
RT Tyron

Getting some guys healthy for this week is massive.

To be fair to McGovern, he's had very little rep in preseason and summer training camp practices at center - So he is clearly being asked to learn on the run immediately .
Luckily to his credit, there were not issues with bad shotgun snaps.
Imo, he's just not accustomed and had much learn time to playing center at the NFL level.

if Farniok had not been injured and out, would he have assumed the backup center role instead of McGovern, or would it still be Philibin strongly preferring having his very best
five OL guys all on the field at the same time ?

Jason Peters was one of the few offensive players that had a good game on Sunday. I’d keep him where he is and keep Tyler Smith at left guard. McGovern has surprisingly poor play strength, and I would put him on the bench if Biadasz is ready to go

Noticed that too, Peters was dominating. It really is sad to see Tyron struggle, but he coming off a long injury and having to change his footwork to play on the other side, hopefully with his mind and talent he will get it together in the playoffs.

No you don’t do any of that if you want the team to win. If Biadasz healthy you put him back at center and move McGovern and Tyler back to LG & LT. Keep Tyron at RT & bring in Peters for jumbo set.

I’m theory I agree and it makes sense…but why move Tyler to LG at all? What was the point of that if Peters is capable of playing LG?
I think that Peters is playing a limited number of snaps, wherever he lines up. It's good that he can provide above average play, even for a short time.
