When did Gil Brant leave Cowboys was it in the 80s?

By the way just to satisfy my own curiosity I went and looked at that draft doesn't show why but they apparently traded out of the first round because they didn't have a 1st round pick and they had 2 2nd round picks and they picked Julius Jones with the first one....

They traded away our 1st for a 2nd and a 1st the following year.
