Word is the temps are going to most likely limit some vets like #77 so start with him on the bench. I would think Zeke, DLaw, LVE, Barr and Martin would sit. I need to see Dak with these receivers have a little work.

Depends what one wants and expects to see in preseason games.
If you're looking for familiar big names on the back of the jerseys ,.. or do you want to see a look at developmental time for rookies,.. under the radar long shots and guys on the fringe ?

when i think preseason- it's always about development time and a look out for a unsung hopeful emerging player or two.

Maybe some fans only want to see games with stakes on the line. - Games that count in the standings and division race.

Which validates why many players and fans think PS games are unnecessary. Don't want to get your main guys hurt, ask TB. I know many say that college football does fine without them, but they also carry about 90 players on their game day roster. But PS games are no longer used to get your known starters some practice anymore, mainly to sift through the new talent.

I mostly agree with what you’re saying. I just view preseason games as something for the fans and a revenue stream for the league. The actual benefit for players/coaches seems to be minimal. Even preseason stars end up getting cut more often than not because the 1000s of snaps in practice outweighs the small sample size fans get to see.

I always end up watching because I have the football itch but always come back to the realization that most of what I had watched didn’t mean anything as far as roster construction, scheme implementation, and even player development is often an illusion.

Now with only 3 PS games, There will be less emphasis on the starters playing so the guys trying to make the team and the bubble guys or players competing to start will get more time.

Also the coaches want to see certain players in certain situations and also to see who can have the dreaded position flex.

As usual most everything will be generic.

I wouldn’t play Tyron or Zack. The rest of the OL and backups need the work. No Dak, no Zeke, no Schultz, no Lamb. No Micah, no LVE, no Gallimore, no DLaw. No Kearse, no Brown or Diggs. Just my opinion for first preseason game. Save most of them for when cuts start happening.
