Who should the Cowboys get next?

I like the players they added during the draft, but we all hope that's not the end of the additions.

I'm not sure about what salaries players will want/get, but here is my wish list below:

Add:

DE - Jadeveon Clowney / Cam Jordan
DT - D.J. Reader
LB - Bobby Okereke / Bobby Wagner / Matt Milano

They can't bring in too many.

They have 82 signed players. 89 counting the draft picks.
They can bring in 8 players. Then churn the roster as the draft picks sign.

Usually they have those 90 players by now. So maybe they plan to get them signed early. So not may additions may be made.

I like the players listed in the OP. But do not see much room for more DL / LB as who gets the reps in TC.
If you have too many at one positions you are wanting to rebuild. Who get the reps. I know, more competition is better.

But to what sacrifices. Is it better to have 5 players compete for 1 spot creating competition. Or 8 players, then be short at another position.
Or would 3 players be enough, if you feel good about all 3.

My guess is that unless they suffer major injuries to those positions, they will likely wait until week #2 to bring in older veterans to avoid guaranteeing their salary.

Yea I'd think at least one at each of those position groups - but hard to say who at this point.

All the names listed make sense to me, but there are a lot of guys out there who can provide veteran depth.

Someone like Cam Jordan or Bobby Wagner could come in and basically not take a rep in TC. I don't think it matters much for guys like that.

As of now I can see 16 different players on the team compared to last year. but as high as 18. I would be surprised if 20.
That is 30% (if 16) and is about typical of most teams. This is according to Bill Parcels. He said typical 25% to 33% turnover every year. Unless you have a super talented team. But many players leave via FA even on SB teams. So that is why the higher % rate compared prior to FA.

QB - 1 - Howell for Milton
OL - 2
CB / S - 6
LB - 2
DL - 5
Depending how thy use them, some DL will be used at OLB.

Nothing at RB or ST's.
Maybe at WR 5 or if they keep 6, then 1 new player.
TE right now I say no change, unless they keep 4. Or if Trigg can really out perform Spann-Ford or even Schoonmaker. I still see a possible trade for him.

Now much of this can and will change during TC, as players step up, or some not as expected.
This is as of today. In a few months I may think differently.

Adding the extra games, they should allow each team to more players. I’m surprised the owners didn’t vote on that. Maybe they did and I didn’t realize it. But anyways, they should.

Only players I see them maybe having an interest in bringing in at this point would be Okeroke on the list and Germaine Pratt who isn't.
Even then, at this point I doubt you see any movement until they see what they've got after 2 weeks of camp.
