*Dak-we know he will remain the team's QB, bigger question is about extending him or not and for how long?
Rush/Lance-this is more a camp thing, if Lance shows enough, Rush could be the odd man out

Pollard-not resigned. First, they don't use him right, next all those chunk plays disappered post injury. Great fa class at the position.
Dowdle-believe he is restricted and should return as the team's #2 or #3 RB.
Duece-will have to earn a roster spot, but appears this staff doesn't trust him or know how to use him correctly

Cooks-most likely stays, but somewhat of a disappointment. Was suppose to be that deep threat, but never on the same page and was used more underneath.
Gallup-last game was his best, but a little too late. Believe team saves 4 million if he is released.

Tyron-was more available then prior years and played well when he started. Believe he stays on another 1yr, incentive laden deal based on starts.
Edoka-not resigned. Hope is their other Tackle prospects can take the next step, wouldn't rule out another also be drafted
Biaz-if they were going to resign him, it would of already happened. Serviceable, but certainly can be upgraded.

Frankly I am concerned that Dak will be a limited QB in the Kirk Cousin- Derek Carr mold.
Like a Cousin, he’ll pat the regular season stats, ..but he will falter in playoffs and clutch time - he’s not one that can single handedly place you over the top. Solid but not elite, imo.

- But that means we flat out have to continue to build around him player-personnel wise , and somehow hope for the best when it comes to coaching support.
I have serious doubts to both QB and coaching, that will be exposed and confused by opposition – especially come playoff time

- Cooks himself has not been a disappointment, ..if anything our coaches have disappointed HIM as 1st half of season, and we have a QB who flat overthrows him every single time.
Prescott has not connected and gauge Cook’s speed.

- Brandin can get separation on deep go’s routes we cannot connect with his speed .. plus how dumb was it for HC McCarthy to phase him out of the offense 1st half of the season ?
I think Cooks is limited by coaching & QB, and I fear he is gonna be wasted by our own limitations as such.

As long as Tyron is healthy and playing at a high level, I’m very still very much for bringing him back as he s still a top notch pass protector- dunno if the bad back makes it a tough bend as a run blocker
– as with 2023 key, always have a major plan B for him,… not a Chaz Green, Chumba type disaster as a backup.
We’re drafting backups (ala Richards, and getting FA bargain-based guys , but none has materialized as a competent backup

- If Pollard not re-signed its cuz club feels he’s lost his unique burst per 2022 injury, otherwise he’d be a C-tier type re-signing, very cap friendly as he’s not sky rocket his stock in ’23.
Does it matter if we return same ole McCarthy asst coaches, same rotten run block scheme , and little to no RB in pass game ?... All areas that could vastly help Dak out.
Should we add a 3rd RB late rd again ?

- I think club will seek a new center and " bye Felicia" to Tyler Bidasz – .. really fell off this year (was there a hidden injury ?)

- Players gone – Tyler Bidasz, Pollard , Chuma, LVE, Kearse, Gallimore, Noah Eggnod,

Will vet CB Gilmore depart or be re-signed ?

- What is the plan with backup Cooper Rush ? Keep in case Lance does not develop ?

-The franchise needs to somehow send a message to Dak, that his time is running out and must play better in the big games.
-Must provide some sort of run game to help their QB. It starts with a better run scheme and a new OL coach and then some personnel adjustments.
-Dak needs to work with Cooks the entire offseason as they just cannot complete the deep pass what so ever. Must be a bigger part of the offense.
-Have to find a legitimate replacement for Gallup as he gave the team virtually nothing in 2 seasons. Tolbert has to also take another step.
-I see Tyron returning and Biaz playing elsewhere.
-Open competition in camp for the #2 QB job.

The Dak contract extension will be interesting. I think the Joneses want to sign him to an extension that is team friendly. I think Dak wants all the money. France is not giving the Cowboys a discount and wants Dak to test free agency. I think we have three different views and could make this a complicated mess. Say what you want, Lance was brought in her by Jerry to put some heat on Dak because he has all the leverage. Mini camp will be interesting as will the Dak yard workouts.

Could take or leave Cooks. You can get better players in tier 2 FA this. He +30 speedster so you never really know when he is going to fall off a cliff. If he is brought back, would probably be good enough as a #2, but they can do better

Has an affordable contract and could make a bigger impact in yr 2

I don't see them cutting any players except maybe Gallup. I do expect Dak and CD to get extensions. I expect most with expiring contracts to go and a new group of free agents brought in before the draft.

On offense I think they let Pollard walk. I would try to trade Gallup, maybe they can get a 6th round pick for him. Cutting him only saves only $800k.

I think they need a real WR2. Gallup is not that guy. Cooks is not used right. He should not be running little 3 yard curls and slants. He need to get in space and use his speed. They need to get him the ball in stride.

I would let Biadasz wlk too. I think he is going to cost them too much money. If they have to go with Hoffman or Bass at C then so be it. Maybe they can draft a C but my gut tells me that will be a step down from Hoffman in his rookie season.

Honestly, I don't think they should do much with the OL other than C. Let's see what Tyron wants to come back. Yes, I know he will miss at least 4 games next year, but let's hope we can prepare Asim Richards for that eventuality. I would let Edoga go too. We have to plan on Waletzko or Richards being the swing tackles.

We are set at TE. I think Stephens will beat out Hendershot at TE next year. Fergie Schoonmaker and Stephens could be a very good group. Fergie is going to be the focal point of that group.

On defense it gets trickier. We have two of everything hitting free agency and depth could be a huge factor. Armstrong and Fowler are both free agents. If we sign one, I think it has to be Armstrong because he can play run and rush the passer. Run defense has to be a priority. Gallimore and Hankins are free agents too. I think they can replace Gallimore more easily than Hankins. I hope Jerry opens his pocketbook for Christian Wilkins but I am dreaming. I am not a fan or Golston either. Maybe Fehoko can beat him out.

Then they have Gilmore and Lewis. If they sign one it will be a tough decision. I think they can let Hooker go now. They have safeties that are younger and just as good, hopefully. They still need a safety with a lot of range in the pass defense.

Very tough to figure this out now

Predominantly will depend on 4 major factors

1. Does Quinn stay or leave

2. Does Dak get a new contract because that will determine cap space and flexibility

3. What is the plan of the FO? Will they be their usual tight wad self in FA or do they view this as a last ditch effort with MM and are willing to be aggressive in FA. This will automatically require a Dak new contract

4. What is the plan with our own top players, Dak, CD, Parsons? If they are all to be given contracts that will tie up a lot of the cap

Clearly he hasn't lost his speed, but the issue was that Dak could never complete the deep pass. There is still a ton of value for a receiver who can stretch the field.
You could have a Lamborghini Aventador....but if Granny is driving it she will keep it under 55. What a waste, just get the Ford Escort and save yourself all the time and money.

Lamb said he wants to be the highest paid WR in the NFL. He’s not taking any discount for Dak.
