24 hours til game day….

#1 - Journeyman MVP - Who will be the Jevon Kearse this year? That journeyman who comes out of nowhere and wins himself a contract or a key role on the team’s success?

#2 - ROY - Who will be the Micah Parsons, i.e. Rookie of the Year. Doubtful anyone will dominate like him, but some rookie is going to stand out and quickly be a key player?

#3 - Veteran Dud - Who will be the Jaylon or Coop/LC this year? The veteran who is taking too much money, that disappoints and quickly gets himself off the team as fast as Jaylon or as long as Coop/LC?

#4 - Young Star - Who will be the Diggs this year? The young 2nd or 3rd year player who gets it now and will seize the moment and end up a Pro Bowl player or close to it?

#5 - Comeback Player - Who will be the Dak this year? The Comeback Player of the Year? Either from serious injury or career slump?

—————————————————————————

My choices…

#1 Journeyman MVP - Pretty obvious. Turpin. Devin Hester is a big name to throw around but he’s at least going to be one of the best return men in the NFL if he stays healthy.

#2 ROY - Ferguson. I predict him and Schultz will be a great tandem by season end if these receivers don’t work out and Moore game plans to his roster strengths. For the sake of the team I hope Tyler win this!

#3 Veteran Dud - Does Tyron already count for this with another serious injury? Have to go with my man Zeke unfortunately.

#4 Young Star - It’s coming from that Front 7. Not sure who, but someone up there is going to have a career sack year and make us forget Gregory. Could also see Steele at RT getting this as long as Offensive Line stays stable, but the one I’m rooting for is Kelvin Joseph to get this. Maybe gets a chance to replace a veteran DB and we see that same talent we got from Diggs.

#5 Comeback Player - Tank!!! Stays healthy, joins the sack party, Cowboys now add a ton of FF to their record turnover list.

1 Fowler

2 Tie between Tyler and Sam Williams.

3 Vets Watkins & the QBs are already demoted to the practice squad. In a roster crunch Basham might get pushed off the 53.

4 Noah Brown although he is in year 5. Odighi for year 2.

5. LVE or DLaw.

Journeyman MVP: I think Jabril Cox is going to surprise.

ROY: Tyler Smith, if he stays at LG.

Vet dud: I think Schultz will disappoint. He's not sneaking up on anyone this year.

Young star: Gallimore. He's shown that he can affect both the run and the pass. Health has been the issue so far, but if he's healthy, that dude is ready.

Comeback player: Zeke will look a lot better rushing on fresh legs.

Zeke ain't getting cut lol. I doubt lve will either. Cutting a vet like jaylon isn't a yearly thing with any team so don't know why that's an option

Oline gets real interesting if Tyron comes back healthy. Peters is a quality starter. I have to wonder about his health if we got him so cheap, but we could have some pretty powerful jumbo packages when both Tyron and Peters are healthy. Peters and Tyler are some pretty serious beef to add to the oline.

Breakout Players - Noah Brown, Biadasz, Steele, Bohanna, Gallimore, Hill?

The potential Breakout Player who was actually *showing* something last year:
LVE

Finished the season strong, with the arrow pointing up, and we know his ceiling is Pro Bowl level if he's actually healthy.

Ill go with Bohanna as young star. But hard for 1 Tech to really stand out.

Zeke 100% the dud

I was actually going to pick Fowler over Peters but I just have a feeling Peters is going to be called on heavily with either Tyler moving back to LG and Peters playing LT because of McGovern not playing well, or Peters taking McGovern's spot and leaving Tyler at LT. With Peters and Tyler on the left end, I think we can finally have some success at running the ball to that side, which is one of the reasons I picked Zeke to have a better season this year.

With Sam Williams, Micah and DLaw on the edge, not sure how much we use Fowler. If not for hoping and praying Tyler has a great year for obvious reasons, I would've went with Sam Williams.

Ive been saying I dont really know why Basham is there to begin with. He isnt really good at anything. He is only real claim to value is that defense played well while he was getting snaps, but it wasn't because of him

1) JOURNEYMAN... Turpin. He's going to light it up on special teams and bring a spark to the offense.

2) ROY...Jake Ferguson. Here recently, when we tag a guy he gets hurt. Shultz injury opens the door for Ferguson.

3) VETERAN DUD...Malik Hooker. We have some guys in the wings better to take a spot anyway.

4) YOUNG STAR... Quinton Bohanna. If Parsons' says look out for this guy, then look out for this guy.

5) COME BACK... Zeke. Cowboys are talking like they want to be a run first team again.
