I just looked up the new rules. He can defer his enlistment commitment for Professional Sports. Love him to become a Cowboy. 2nd in all of College Football in 15 1/2 sacks this season.

Andre Carter Ii(6-7,250) DE Army.

Has the Cowboys ever had a player from the Army?

Roger Stabach Navy
Chad Hennings Air Force

Nice find but how does he play with any pro team and complete his 5 years commitment. I know there is a way. One of my daughter is dating a guy from West Point and he told he has a 5 year commitment after he graduates.

He's one of my Pet Cats....for 2023.

However, he was a big reason why Army lost to Navy this year. His job, as the backside end, is to squeeze the tackle and make your way down the line to the play. He kept getting greedy and getting upfield, and the Navy coaches punished him for it. Carter (and/or his coaches) didn't adjust and Navy attacked his gap with counters, cutbacks, and reverses.

Still, love his phsyical tools. Could be around 285 lbs with his frame, once he's not stuck by Army's weight requirements and PT, and can just train for football.

They change the rules to exempt Pro Sports. They put them like on reserve status until pro career is done.

Ok thanks.
US MILITARY changes the rules sometimes. Napoleon McCallum had some sweet deal like this....Air Force didn't really fight Chad Hennings being to tall to fly.....I was in the Marines in the late 80s . We had a guy who was huge all muscle. His family his brothers were o linemen One played at Notre Dame the other at Michigan State. He got out of his contract early so he could play football at Michigan State also atleast a year and half early.

Thank you for the info and your service. Much appreciated. I remember Robinson grew several inches when he got to the Naval Academy so couldn’t fly and they let him go in to play in the NBA.
