Who's the super star quarterback that we could have gotten in the 4th next year?

I'm not complaining about this trade, but I don't think anyone is calling Trey Lance a superstar QB anymore.
He just got punted for a late 4th rounder.
This would be Lance 3rd year in the league.

Year 1 - sat behind Jimmy G (Who took the team to the playoffs) started 2 games (1-1 record)

Year 2 - started 2 games (1-1 record) got injured. Purdy goes 5-0 takes team to NFC championship game

As you can see, difficult to call a player a just with less than 6 games under his belt. In everyone's eyes Lance's still a rookie coming off a serious injuries. The question is whether he can overcome his knee injury and develop as a starting QB.

This trade wasn't meant for this season but for next year and beyond.

I'm just wondering, who's the super star that we are missing out on next year?
I don't think the complaint is that we were going to find a superstar QB in the fourth round but that we lose the opportunity to draft someone like Pollard or Ferguson. However, there's as much, if not more, of a chance that you end up with a Reggie Robinson, a Jabril Cox or a Josh Ball.

In the last 40 years..... how many Top 5 Qbs who DID NOT work out with their 1st team, went on to be a good QB ( or even a good back up QB) with their 2nd team? 1? 2?

In the last 40 years....how many 4th round picks at any position...went on to be good, or even average, players for the team that drafted them? 2 hundred ( out of over 1200)? Something Long those lines?

If you had to bet ur mortgage...what do you think is more likely: Lance becomes like the 2nd or 3rd QB in nfl history to succeed in the last 4 decades from a QB of his top 5 draft position after failing with his original team, to the extent that they wanted to offload him?

Or, that 4th round pick becomes a useful or even good player, like approximately 20 to 30% of the 4th rounders do for their drafting teams?

I would bet on the 1 in 3 bet.....vs the 1 in 120 or 1 in 150 bet. But then again...I'd rather invest my money in a mutual fund or company stock, then feeding it into a lottery ticket machine at the gas station like all the broke losers do.

Jerruh is at the gas station dropping twenty dollar bills on the scratch offs with all the bums; LOL!

I wish they'd invest more in QBs. They've been good at getting value on the cheap.

I would have liked to have seen them at least bring in a UDFA this year (and every year) if they miss out on ones they'd like to draft. I was hoping they'd go hard after Tyson Bagent after not drafting one.

Here's how I'm looking at this. At the end of 2020, that miserable season, if anyone would have told me that starting in 2023 we would have 2 players that were drafted in the first 11 picks and one player is a very raw QB with a lot of upside and the other is a dominant force on defense then I'd be pretty happy.

We got 2 players drafted in the top 11 of the 2021 draft. I don't see how this is a bad thing.

You were making a very good point, but you ruined it with the insults.
