Ever since the Indy game where we played alot of zone that helped win that game I have noticed in the following two games we have also played alot of zone. For example, in today's game how many catches did the Gmen have on 12 yard hooks between 3 of our guys in zones? They had alot and thats one reason to explain their long poessions. In addition, last week verses the Bucs, when Joey Galloway caught the 60 yard pass on their 1st drive it was in a zone. Galloway was open later in games in zones but their QB just couldnt hit him(minus the one were Henry was covering him that was man.) I mean Galloway was the only guy they had you would think they would shadow him with Newman with a saftey over the top.

Even though we're winning and Im not saying never tp play zone, but I think were playing too much of it. Our strenghts are our db's locking up man to man. In Zones with our saftey coverages we are left open to giving up plenty of yards and lots of time of poession. That concerns me thats all. Opinions??

I totally agree.

yea, but the dbs are playing man in that coverage. In the last few games we played a zone all over the field.

Good post..

Bill Parcell's plays too conservative some times...

This is what drives me nuts about our defense. A team is constantly beating you in the same ways over and over. It is silly to persist and not try something else.

It's also the reason Eli had all day to throw...

I mean seriously... the guy was on the verge of a total breakdown, and instead of bringing the pressure early on to rattle him, we play a conservative game, allowing him all day to throw... our whol philosophy seemed to be, as long as Eli does not throw a deep ball, it is OK...
