Why Cowboys will be fine at TE position if TE not taken early in 2023 Draft

Some folks are anxious for the Cowboys to take a TE early in 2023's Draft due to Dalton Schultz leaving via free agency, but they need not worry if the Cowboys don't due to their very talented young studs they picked up last year and have anxiously awaiting to further prove their worth in 2023.

Some people forget that you gotta let guys develop after selecting them sometimes. We have TE's. There are other needs.

I like our TEs.

I hated the value of Mayer in round 1.

I’m ok with taking him now where his true value is which is round 2 because he’s such a poor athlete.

I feel like the Cowboys have LaPorta rated ahead of him though.

I would be really happy with Laporta in the second. Good athlete. Talented player.

I think both of the rookies from last year did very well and will both improve. Will Ferguson (or I guess either) step up enough to be an every down type player? I hope so. We also have McKeon who is young as well and looks to be the better blocker of the three so he should help our Offense as well and while not the same type of athlete as the other two are, he looks like he can make a couple plays as well. More of those wander out late and find a little open spot catches that we saw a lot from Schultz. With better top end talent from this draft this would IMO be a much better group but I think we will be, as you put it, "fine"
