Why do the Cowboys have more Thursday games

Why do the Dallas Cowboys get more Thursday games than other teams in the league? They have always had the Thursday Thanksgiving game, but now they get a second Thursday game each year…which is a most definite disadvantage. I looked, and the Lions haven’t gotten this second “make up” Thursday game each year(despite the same supposed “Thanksgiving” advantage)….only Dallas. This seems to be a very pronounced disadvantage. I know that the Thanksgiving game was considered an advantage by some since it was always a home game. But they had evened that out by always making sure Dallas has an away game before the Thanksgiving game in recent years. Just seems a very blatant disadvantage having two short weeks vs other teams only having one.

Amazon needs a Cowboys game. There is a chance it might be game of the year.

Our second Thursday game normally comes a week after Thanksgiving. To split them up like that...sounds like the Mara's are in Goodell's ear again.

Is Tennessee the game we play prior to the Eagles coming to town. I don't like it either. But the silver lining is if we win that game we have several more days to rest and prep for the Eagles.

If both teams have 4 days between games...there's no disadvantage at all.

We play Titans after the Eagles. Then we get 10 days before the last game at Washington.

We play at Jaguars, 6 days rest, home Eagles
5 days rest, then 10 days off.

I'm just happy that we don't have the back to back Thursdays this year.

The Cowboys are the NFL's top box office attraction. They are locked in on Thanksgiving and have been for most of the last 50 years. However the Thursday night games are/were owned by the NFL network. There was no way in hell the NFL was NOT going to get its top attraction at least once a year on its own network.

the thanksgiving thing is tradition. Typically, you will always see Dallas and Detroit play on thanksgiving.

Jerry would probably come closer to shading the windows at the stadium than than giving up the Thanksgiving game.

Ah okay. Thanks. That does suck we play the Eagles then turn around on a short week and play the Titans.
