Why does the offense get a free pass?

We are all well aware of the defensive struggles, but to be fair the defense is learning a brand new scheme, has many new starters, along with an abundance of injuries across the board.

The offense was kept pretty much the same. Same scheme, same playcaller, basically the same personnel, but they did add a legitimate top 10 talent at WR. Yes, this unit also has had it's share of injuries, but all the playmakers have yet to miss a single start.

This offense is pretty much getting the same results. Start off slow on a consistent basis, always playing from behind chasing the scoreboard. The team is -7 in turnovers and the offense is 31st in time of possession. This is the exact opposite way to protect a poor defense and is impossible way to be successful.

This league is a bottom line business, it's about winning. This team has been terrible in one score games since last season. Garbage time stats mean nothing, when the team is losing games. This unit is littered by 1st rd picks across the board, why are they getting a free pass?

Interesting question.....on one hand, their ability to score points is obvious but they've had killer turnovers in early games that directly affected scoring fast and early. So yea they're part of the problem but good lord, not like the D. lol

they havent look around many threads on Offensive player sand coaches making mistakes and putting unneeded extra pressure on an already bad defense, I dont think a coach or player or group has been left out of the conversations. This place has gone full ****** after 4 games and want everyone cut, traded, and fired..

read closely..its sad place to be right now

If the defense could have made some stops against the Browns when we were up 14-7, heck even at 14-14, the way the offense was scoring later, without the turnovers. It is a different game. Same for the Seattle game, same for the Rams game, even same for the Falcons game.

Just make a few stops with the score close.

This defense has been doing this for 20 years. With a few decent years here and there.

There are no free passes.

That said, the offensive has had the worst average starting position in the NFL this year. Despite that, they are 6th in yards per drive, 8th in touchdowns per drive, 7th in TDs in the red zone and 3rd in having to punt. The only areas where Dallas has struggle on offense is turnovers.

The defense as a whole has just plain sucked.

If people are looking at the offense to lay blame, it can only be because they have some other agenda. There's no possible way to watch the games and come away feeling like the offense didn't do its share to win the game. Any other take away has to be because they want to blame the offense regardless of what's on tape.

Because Dak has inflated stats. What his supporters are failing to recognize (or simply ignoring) is the reason why his stats are so high. When opponents get 20 plus point leads they tend to back off, and Baker Mayfield admitted the Browns were guilty of doing just that. When the defenses relax Dak is able to do more, which makes it appear as though he is leading this miraculous come back week after week when that really isn't the case at all.

If the games were lower scoring Dallas would have been able to run a more balanced offense and Dak's stats would be half of what they are now. But hey, lets go ahead and sing his praises for leading the #1 statistical offense and totally blowing off how he is getting these inflated garbage time stats.

Why do people think personal stats are more important than wins? It makes no sense. I would be perfectly happy if Dak was only getting about 200 yards a game if they had a 4-0 record and were well balanced and disciplined. This offense is nothing like that.

In other words, they can never get off the field. Even when it's close as in 3rd and a mile, guess what happens? lol

Because the box score nerds who are biased towards Dak and want him to sink us into mediocrity with his contract just look at how well they do after the game has gotten out of hand and the defense loosens up.

I don't think the offense is being given a full pass. Everyone agrees the turnovers have to stop, and nobody is blaming the defense for the turnovers the offense is responsible for. But the reality is the Cowboys defense has given up the most points of any team in the NFL, while the offense has scored the 3rd most points in the NFL. That puts the focus much more on the defense than the offense.

This isn't true at all...... years past many/several of his critics ( could dig up threads if mod allowed) were bashing his inability to pass for over 200 yards. I'm pretty sure you were one.......lol

Nobody should ever get a free pass for a mistake they make, but they do because the people doing it have an agenda. People should just call a spade a spade and be objective in their opinions realizing multiple things can be true at the same time. Rarely does that happen though.

umm we got down because of the b3b turnovers by the offense giving Cleveland short fields for quick turnaround scores..

knowing the defense the TOS are even worse at the moment. This is the OPs point and you try and skate right over the offense causing the score to get out of hand in the first half which has happened now 3 straight games.. offense is also an issue albeit not as big of one..

they also didnt score for 2 full quarters 2 and 3..what happened? oh wait the 2minute prevent hasn't kicked in yet..

its an issue KM is an issue with pass happy play calls and odd play types at certain moments.. theres issues in blocking protection for our tackles etc etc

so OP is correct excuses being made because the bright lights of the near comebacks are blinding the reality's, offense isnt helping the cause,

They even did it when we blew out the Jaguars when they had a vaunted defense.

the issue is KM IMHO so 200yards yes some complaints but why no middles ground how about run game going for 150-200 and the passing around 300 find some unbalance limit mistakes and actually help the OL tackles and the defense at the same time..its called balance, one coach runs far too much and plays it far to safe and the next is pass happy high risk and losing TOp and turning it over causing more pressure on a poor defense,,

if that not obvious well ic an t help you but ive been pointing out KM inability to call a more balanced game..we dont need to be run heavy or pass happy strike some resemblance of balnce..im not blaming Dak, its on KM and MM at this point..
