Why is everyone so afraid of Denver's pass rush?

Denver ranks 24th in sacks in the NFL with 18. Nobody on their team has more than 2 sacks. Detroit ranks higher than Denver with 22 sacks.

Denver did have four sacks yesterday, but those came against the Jets. The Jets can't stop anybody from sacking their quarterbacks. Only the Texans and Vikings have given up more sacks than the Jets.

How bad will it hurt if Mike Myers and Ekuban have big games against us thursday?

well first off, "sacks" arnt always indicative of how much pressure you are putting on another teams QB...

secondly, it isnt so much that people are afraid of Denvers pass rushers, its that most of us understand that we stink at pass protection right now

They both have two sacks for the entire season. I think that is unlikely.

Yeah but we Petiti, Tucker and Johnson.

Petiti has been as good as any RT we have had in a while. He has not hurt us anymore than any RT hurts any team. He is not All Pro, I grant you, but he has the potential to be one someday. Between Burnett, Spears and Petiti, I think Rob has made the biggest contribution. Not bad for a sixth compared to a first and second!

We just played two teams that are better at rushing the passer than Denver. Personally, I think we should be more worried about Denver's secondary and their offense. The Cowboys will face one of the top running attacks in the league on Thursday.

Even so, he is getting enough time to throw the ball. His throws were off yesterday, and it wasnt because of the pass rush. Drew does not need a lot of time to throw the ball, he just takes a lot of time, yesterday he was getting the ball out pretty quick, some because he had to, but other times just because, and the same result showed. We've seen Drew make good throws w/o having great protection. I hope he can do that against Denver because he'll need to make good throws against their secondary.

We also had Pettiti, Tucker, and Johnson against the Eagles and Lions.

If Ekuban was that good we would have kept him!! He wont have a big day, a big day for him is A sack!! That wont hurt us at all, we've seen Drew get a sacked a few times in a game and it doesnt seem to hurt us too much. This game will be on our Defense.

In all seriousness, Ekuband did have a nice year w/ Cleveland last year playing part-time (8 sacks I believe) but has not been duplicating that this season. I agree that this game will be largely on our defense.

Thats true, Denver still lacks Pass Rush. They blitz a lot. But then the problem for us our Tackles up and down play sometimes. Key is Pettiti injury or not.

Their DL is not big either, that will cause Interior lines problems. So as long as our OL comes to play, cowboys should be able run well enough on them. And as long as Cowboys D can stop their run effectively, O can do enough damage to them.

All that matters is, which team will show up Thursday for Cowboys? I am guessing and hoping, the good one and the one that is fired up to play.

their pass defense is nothing special. their run defense is pretty good.if we stop their run we win. if they can run the ball it could be a long day but thats just about how most teams are. i don't think they are as good as their record but we shall see thurs

Petteti will own Ek and Myers. He may have trouble with the Kearses and such, but he wont have that hard a day against Ek. Have a little faith.

sorry, but I dont agree with this...he was under serious pressure most of the game, and a good pass rush creates bad throws...to suggest otherwise is just comical

I agree with you, Drew did have a lot of pressure on him and it had an effect on the passing game but in truth I think that can be said about every QB and why every team tries to apply pressure on the QB. That is the reason Dallas made our investment on defense to be able to apply more pressure to affect the opposing QB
