The NBA sux and he's not even it's best player anymore. Not sure why he's in all these Intel commercials. Dude didn't even go to college.

I dunno, why was John Madden always in brake commercials? What makes him qualified to know a thing about brakes? Happens all the time in advertising. Don't disagree with you on the NBA.

What personality? I loved the guy with regards to football but I sure as heck wouldn't take his advice on brakes and find it funny that the advertising company thinks I would just because he's John Madden. A good percentage of the population mumbles dumb crap, he fits right in.

I get that but logically it didn't make any sense and if anyone listened to half of what Madden said they would know he didn't always make a lot of sense (which is part of the reason I liked him but some hated him).

In other words, as much as you and I don't like the NBA, realize there is no great connection between Lebron and Intel and think his mumbling his annoying I bet there are plenty of people that love Lebron and will buy Intel products because of it. Stupid? IMO, absolutely.

I actually mute most commercials now, half the time I can't stand the personality or don't know what the heck they're trying to sell until the last few seconds but I also know advertising companies spend millions on research, results, etc so I guess there's something to it.

I never liked Lebron as a basketball player..... I do think Lebron has enough charisma for commercials. Have you seen some of these other fools who have done commercials?

As far as Lebron going to the Lakers next year i am against it as a die hard Laker fan. Stay in Cleveland and finish your career there. If Ingram develops a money jumper you all better look out.

(He's still the best player, brother. But I suppose that's neither here nor there. Let me not derail your thread...)

He's led a pristine life off the field, is the most popular player in the league (you can debate with yourself whether he is the best player in the league), has a brilliant marketing team, 3x Champ, 8 straight finals, top ten all-time player (many consider top-5), a generational talent in the most marketable league as per it's players, age of social media and how ingrained he is in it, Brand Name.

Other than that...

Despite what I think of him personally (I think he's an overly-sensitive, pretentious whiner who is just accustomed to getting his way), LeBron is still the best player in the league, and also the most marketable.

So it does make sense for brands to want him as their spokesperson.
