He is a hold over from the Garrett era. Not only that but he was Scott Linehan's little protege. How is it that three years into McCarthy's era, he is a still here continuing all the sins of the previous regime: lack of situational awareness, panicking into abandoning the run, lack of creativity, etc? I guess he has the Jones Boyz support, but why? He isn't very good.

Because he's Dak's BFF going back to when Kellen was still a player, and Jerry wanted to make everything as Dak-friendly as possible. Part of that is Dak not having to learn a new offense.

So stupid, because Dak could have learned Mike's WCO that first year (which was a waste anyway) and be rolling by now. Instead we're stuck with the ridiculous remnants of Garrett.

It's a continuation of Jerry's long-held belief that players are what matter, not coaches.

because he is cheap. he is Jerry's wonder boy so he can say he found the next genius. I said it three years ago that he will have growing pains and will be schooled and we have to suffer through it. afte three years he is still green in clock managment, play calling and setting up the defense. he thinks he is at Boise state. somebody has to wake him up.

He is here because Jerry is a personnel genius…and he is never wrong…except 10 years later when he had to admit his choice of Garrett as the next Tom Landry was taking taking too long because Garrett is a slow learner…

Well, he isn't cheap but he is a comfortable choice, which is why Jerry keeps him around. I would venture that our next head coach will not onboard unless he has discretion over all coaches.

Jerry was afraid to lose the next Sean Payton. That 3 deep vertical routes in 3rd and 10 is a Garrett staple. Saw that SO much in his days. Kellen hasn't learned a thing. His game management and awareness is comical. How can this be so obvious to everyone yet he stays on the payroll for big $$$.

Probably has something to do with the fact that the Cowboys offense has been the highest scoring team in the NFL the last 3 years when Dak was at QB.

Bingo....Dak isn't very smart.

He's here because Jerry still can't admit he wasted a decade with Garrett.
It was VERY slick how Booger kind of just floated The Clapping Carrot's firing out there to the point that is was just simply assumed by fans and media that he was gone....I haven't forgotten the fact that Booger NEVER had an official firing press conference where he actually announced it....had there been one, he surely would have been pressed about said 10 wasted years...I saw what you did Booger....and to this day, it was VERY chicken s of you!!!

Garrett was not fired, Jerry just allowed the contract to expire. Cowardly thing to do but I would expect nothing less from this organization.
