Why is Sidney Crosby still out?

please dont make rude comments, I know most of the hockey fans in here despise him. I would like serious, informative responses please.

I know he was out because of a concussion, but he still hasn't healed yet? I wonder if he will ever be able to return to the form that he had prior to the game where it happened. He was absolutely scorching the league before that game, as were the Penguins.

I am just not used to an athlete sitting out so long from a concussion. Believe me, I know how serious they are, since it is a brain injury. Still, athletes seem to come back within days or maybe a few weeks. I feel they should be more cautious, just as the Pens have been with Crosby.

I know, I recently read an article in SI that talked about him seeking alternative treatments b/c he was still have so much trouble with balance, etc. Looks like the brain damage was pretty severe. sad, because I really like the Penguins and Crosby.

It looks like his concussion is/was pretty bad. Kind of like Justin Morneau of the Minnesota Twins. He struggled a lot this year with side effects.

After reading this it amazes me how fast football players come back. Maybe football helmets protect better then then what they wear in hockey and baseball.

I don't know much about hockey, but I'm sure Crosby doesn't want to play until he is back to 100%.
