Why our D never get a clean shot at QB?

I mean, Gints' DE/LB took turns to get a clean shot at our QBs while everyone of our D was being blocked by someone even if we blitzed nine. Why did not we have some schemes to disguise Ware/Ellis/Spears etc?

Ask Zimrod, we haven't had a decent blitz since 1995. :bang2:

Because where as the Giants OL was able to pick us up our OL didn't. NY did not run anything that Dallas has not seen before the differance is their line did the job ours didn't

I thought I saw Spears out there in sunglasses with a fake moustache on at least one play in the fourth quarter Monday night.

We show our blitzes as soon as we line up so they have plenty of time to change the play or the blocking scheme.

Part of it is desire, wanting too, much of it has to do with schemes and defensive coordinator.

Next, has to do with youth and inexperience at defensive line, with youngesters like Ware, Spears and Canty, along with Ratliff and Hather.

I think we might as well outfit the team with neon signs that say "We're blitzing!" or one of those rotating diamonds like in the Sims or Metal Gear. They'll turn red when a blitz is called.

Look at 2 of the crucial 3rd and longs from Monday, on one we stay back with SEVEN in coverage, with the Giants sending out 5 possible WR's (one being a RB), and Shockey catches the TD.

Later, on another crucial 3rd and long, we blitz SEVEN, leaving 4 in coverage, the blitz was disguised OK, but was really ineffective and they completed a pass on the offenses left for about 10-15 yards. I think they had 3 guys running routes, maybe 4.

Poor execution? Lack of desire? I don't know, but we need to improve quickly on defense.

:laugh2: Thanks. I think that's the first time I've laughed since Sunday.

Our guys are just not strong enough when they try to push towards the QB.
THAT is their main weakness.

The trainers and strength coaches have done a horrendous job with our player's strength, ever since Jimmy left.

Remember our D-Linemen pushing and shoving their way into the backfield!
That was a thing of beauty! Jimmy had excellent strength coaches then.

If you want to fix the problems with the O-Line and the D-Line get a new strength coach!

It was pathetic watching the few second half drives where we simply could not get off the field. Manning had all day even when we blitzed. One thing you can't count on in football is when a blitz is picked up a big offensive play will happen.
